Carbone
Yes, there have been high profile flops from Serie A, like Veron, but there’s been several who have adapted to the premier league, had success and embraced the style of play and culture. If this kid being linked is good enough (looks superb in the video) then I wouldn’t use Serie A as a stick to beat him with.
It sure ain't so easy though to "calculate" the progression of young players. I remember back in 2014 that many on SC- yes, including me - were eagerly hoping that Spurs would beat off competition to sign Alen Halilovic and Tim Jedvaj - both seen as future stars, particularly Halilovic. But Spurs lost out on both players - and dodged 2 bullets it seem.
Jedvaj is a rarely used sub at Leverkusen while Halilovic is loand out (by Milan) to Standard Liege with an option to buy; where he's only played 7 games so far this season (0 goals).
Also, it created a bit of a commotion among Spurs fans when Reece Oxford made his PL debut back in 2015 and we got to know he'd been at the Spurs academy (until he was 13). He was even called up to train with the England squad at 16 and people were sure a future star was in the making. Now he's a regular sub at Augsburg, rarely even getting games off the bench.
All 3 are still fairly young but it shows that the brightest young talents aren't always the ones who shine the brightest at the big stage season after season...
Its an Italian source so it’s not very reliable. No idea about CalcioNapoli24 integrity but.....
Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing Joachim Andersen, but they are not prepared to pay Sampdoria's £35m asking price. (CalcioNapoli24)

If anything Trippier has regressed this season with his crossing and he does exactly as you said. We are fairly toothless with regards to our full backs creating good chances.I think Tripps needs to get the ball played ahead of him to run on to. So he actually crosses the thing instead of stopping and playing it back, which absolutely infuriates me.

I was just having a laugh because of the 1 name response to a post saying they were struggling to come up with a list.
A lot of those players though are from a different decade and were fairly established players already. Our scouting needs to be bang on with him as the pace of the leagues is completely different. Need to determine that he can handle the faster paced and unpredictable profile of the premiership. He looks good to me but for every desailly there is a tremazzani
Italian league is still just so different to the PL, the pace of the game, the tactics, the physicality. Plus the lifestyle in Italy is so different in terms of the times teams train, food, culture, a lot of Italians get homesick for it. I do agree it’s one of the highest-risk leagues to buy from.A lot of those players though are from a different decade and were fairly established players already. This is odds on favourite to be why you end up on the outside looking in. Any old shithouse rumour, absolutely anything, from anywhere, you don't care, bang, you post it, you can't help yourselfNo idea about CalcioNapoli24 integrity but.....

Yeah, not gonna open myself up to the slings and arrows but let's just say that I am not sure what generation you're talking about. And I've been lockstep with just about every other thing you ahve written in here.I’m not sure, Dele is a once in a generation kind of a player. I think he’d be a success wherever he went.

Those weren't rumours, those were players that people were suggesting. Then take a closer look at some of the posts on the front page of SC : some of those rumours posted there are just as shithouse - or even more so - than of those being banned.
With that logic, why haven't players like Aurier, KWP, CCV, Onomah, Edwards, Janssen been doing much better at Spurs? Why have Dier stagnated this season? They should all be world beaters by now then.
You really believe that the Spurs coaches (on any leverl) can coach every talent in the world to become top-notch players?
Not every player can be coached into becoming become top-notch player just because they were excellent youth prospects. Not even at Spurs.
Besides, Halilovic went to Barca and Jedvaj went to Leverkusen - both clubs have a better reputation than Spurs when it comes to deveoping young talents; particularly Barca, which - together with Ajax - is by far the most successful club in Europe in that regard for the last 2 decades (well Ajax for the last 5 decades). But even at those 2 clubs many excellent youth talents never make it.
By using Jose as an example you choose one the worst examples though: he's a manager who's known for rarely playing - and developing - young talent as he prefers clubs that throws money at any player he likes. Barca and Leverkusen did not have Jose at their club (well, not totally true when it comes to Barca as Jose had a short stint there as an assistant coach under Bobby Robson and van Gaal).
THis is going to be a huge summer for us, has to be.
I just worry what impact lack of CL could have if we don't make it.
