I watched Danny Rose closely today and I feel we need to upgrade as well on the left. You wouldn't believe he started out as a winger whenever he managed to get into decent positions going forward his final ball was championship level....yes I give you his tenaciousness and attitude but to my mind he along with Trippier have really gone backwards.

One thing is for sure - we need a fair few players.

right back
midfielder
back up striker / forward on the wings
midfielder
mdifielder if Eriksen leaves
defender if Toby leaves

Neither Sess or Gomes are good enough to make us better. Would be massively underwhelming if after not spending for 18 months our signings are of that ilk.

Have a read through this thread and you will see way better players suggested.

I’m really hoping the summer is about signing players we haven’t been linked to, much the same way we signed Son or Sanchez.

Wouldn’t have minded Gomes or sessengon starting today especially Gomes,

A number of bodies are needed in! Absolutely no excuses from Levy, our squad depth is a complete shambles, i don't wanna hear any excuses about having to offload players first, because our squad is so weak as it is that we cant afford to offload anyone before adding

A&C, can I make a suggestion. Totally appreciate the reason to close this thread down but would it be possible to retain a "Scouting thread" and just remove the "transfer wishlist" element?

A scouting thread would just give an opportunity for those of us to discuss players we've seen/like in world football and it could even be moved to general football to reduce the likelihood of anyone dropping any ITK in there or spamming it with anything else.

Just an idea, no worries if you think it wouldn't work.

There's already a scouting thread in General Football:

The market for Zaha at £70m is very small though. Potentially tiny if Chelsea's transfer ban is upheld. The market for AWB is gonna be massive, i reckon. Lot of teams fighting over him.

Would Zaha really cost £70m? Mahrez was only £60m even with the Man City tax. I know a lot of people mention this £70m figure though, so have Palace confirmed that's his price?

Im sure there were plenty of detractors. Bought for €9m from a team that got relegated - fewer goals and assists than eg Sessegnon... there would be so many here saying he is not the player to take us to the next level. I remember the widespread dérision of Grealish last summer.

They were wrong and I wonder how many people will have the self-awareness to reflect that carefully chosen targets from significantly weaker teams could improve us ...

To be fair a lot of people were happy when be bought Tripper from Burnley after they went down. I think with Robertson it was probably just a case of thinking that it wasn't a priority position at that time.

Could've sworn i read last week they wanted £80m, maybe poor source but i cant remember which.

I wouldn't be surprised, because he's incredibly important to them, but it just seems very expensive. Maybe we'll find out in the summer.

Not fussed really. I'm not one of those who get the hype but can see how people are seduced by his exciting style.

West Ham was another brutal reminder of how woefully weak our squad is. So many players who are midtable quality at best, so many players who are permanently crocked. we ended the game with llorente and Janssen up front..... how desperate is that? This in turns means the one who are good enough are knackered and pick up injuries cos they have to play every bloody minute. Need a massive turnover this summer, not that I expect that at all.

Tottenham are considering a move for Torino midfielder Soualiho Meite, who has impressed since a £9m move from Monaco, but the Serie A side will demand £18m to part with the player.

Any Serie A fans out there know about this lad? Gotta love a left field link, even if it turns out the player is a dud.

Averages 6.82 across the season if you’re a stat enthusiast:

The issue is that they've been able to compensate for the lack of CL football by paying top wages, which Levy is deathly allergic to. Our only hope of recruiting players of the required standard is to sell them on an attractive project, which will be impossible if we're in the Europa League.

And sadly, there doesn't yet appear to be an Epi Pen for that.
