The same people writing off Sessegnon at 18 years old are desperate for us to sign Wan-Bissaka who nobody in this forum had even heard of when he was 18. Dan James is 21 and has only just started to establish himself in the same league that Sessegnon tore up as a 17 year old. Grealish is only just fulfilling his potential at 23 but is another that many want us to sign. For the record I would love us to sign all 4 but dismissing an 18 year old with 6 assists and 2 goals in the toughest league in the world for a woeful team is just bizarre.

I think there’s a vast difference between the two to be honest so a strange comparison.

Wan-Bissaka has established himself for a season and a half now as a solid right back in a premier league team.

Sessegnon looked spectacular at left wing in championship but has been a bit average in premier league and also hasn’t shown yet that he can be a long-term success as a left back as a bit defensively dodgy and at left wing didn’t set premier league on fire at all (obviously there is an age difference but again for me makes it an odd comparison as not comparing two 18 year olds).

Personally I’d prefer Wan-Bissaka as a position we need to strength and he is big and powerful and would hopefully fill the Walker void (and arguably develop into an even better player).

That’s not to say i wouldn’t want Sessegnon either but he is more of a risk and would need serious developing by Poch who may be able to work his full-back whispering skills on him and make him an incredibly attack-minded left back or maybe he’ll do a Bale and stay further up.

It wasn't a comparison. The point was don't write off an 18yr old as AWB has proved just how much youngsters can improve over a couple of years

Slow was the first thing that sprung to mind. His foot work and overall pace and movement just seem really sluggish. Not seen him live though must admit.

Slow? He run faster than everyone of the players he faced in this clip...
I am not saying I am sold on him at all but he sure doesn't look slow

Danny Rose was written off before he went on loan to Sunderland. Came back and spent a season under Poch and was a beast.

And Walker wasn't that highly thought of until a couple of seasons before he upped and left for City. Had a loan to Villa & QPR I believe long before cracking it at Spurs

AWB + Pochettino’s training regime could a excellent player make.
Selling the incumbents for a good price is the first thing and should be sadly a deal breaker if not achieved.
I’d then keep KWP as his understudy, but if either incumbent doesn’t sell then send KWP out on loan.

We need to improve in key positions. Does Sessegnon do that at the moment, or in the short term future is a valid question. If the funds at Spurs are relatively in short supply then I’d rather we addressed the immediate needs than an area we are relatively comfortable. *Having said that I do not know how Rose, and especially Davies are seeing their future.

Draxler seems to stall everywhere, there's something odd going on with him.
I think this is an example of Uber rich players.

They have so much wealth that there is not enough desire or hunger which is the difference in elite sport. Just look at Sanchez and Ozil.

Ronaldo and Messi are the richest players in history aren’t they?

Agreed. Draxler has never looked like a guy who wants to fulfill his own potential.

I'd honestly rather try and outbid the Goons for Christopher Nkunku and give him a chance in midfield than bring in a 25 year old Draxler on a huge fee/salary. Younger, hungrier, something for Poch to work with. I've never figured out what Draxler's true position and best formation is. He's not really a wide-forward and wouldn't be able to lead the line in HK's absence like Sonny. He's just a wide attacking midfielder like Lamela, but without the work rate and tackling and heart. 5 goals this year in 40 appearances in the farmers league.

That they are, but there’s more players who have got a big contract and lose their way. Be it players at the top end of the game or youngsters getting their first big pay day.

It’s got to affect the mentality in some way or other

It sure ain't so easy though to "calculate" the progression of young players. I remember back in 2014 that many on SC- yes, including me - were eagerly hoping that Spurs would beat off competition to sign Alen Halilovic and Tim Jedvaj - both seen as future stars, particularly Halilovic. But Spurs lost out on both players - and dodged 2 bullets it seem.
Jedvaj is a rarely used sub at Leverkusen while Halilovic is loand out (by Milan) to Standard Liege with an option to buy; where he's only played 7 games so far this season (0 goals).
Also, it created a bit of a commotion among Spurs fans when Reece Oxford made his PL debut back in 2015 and we got to know he'd been at the Spurs academy (until he was 13). He was even called up to train with the England squad at 16 and people were sure a future star was in the making. Now he's a regular sub at Augsburg, rarely even getting games off the bench.
All 3 are still fairly young but it shows that the brightest young talents aren't always the ones who shine the brightest at the big stage season after season...

Yeah, I remember a Europa game we had where another one of these hyped up golden boys tried some flashy stepover and dribbled the ball off his foot for a GK. He was shit. What was his name? Kyle or Kylian or something silly and worthless to remember. :)(y)

Not to detract from your bigger/main point. Just taking the piss.
