Plenty of examples not going to one example. So do you think that was a good window with no cb or striker signed and the Kane sale. You trust Levy?
Once again, multiple examples but you canāt show any.
Great question, itās highlighting you arenāt actually reading most peopleās posts however. As most people have said, no, overall itās a poor window, Iād say itās about a 4/10 personally.
I think Udogie (who im counting as a new signing even if he wasnāt signed this window) is a massive upgrade but I think weāre lacking in quality back up for him.
I think Maddison is a great signing, and I think him coupled with Sarr and Biss absolutely transforms our midfield, genuinely levels and levels above where it was. Bentancur will add to that immensely, but will need time post injury. I would have liked Gallagher but it didnāt ever fell likely being heās Chelsea, who knows.
CB I think we are really short, I donāt think just VDV was anywhere near enough for that position, and I think the drop off to Sanchez and Iād say probably Davies (because I donāt think Dier plays) is huge. I think thatās probably what costs us this season, an injury to Cuti or VDV that puts them out for any kind of extended period and I think we will drop off in quality immensely.
My hope is that the way we play now, I.E with attack in mind may save us a little if that happens, as Iām hopeful the ball spends more time with us than running at our second choice CBās. I think not getting another CB was a massive error tbh. Striker wise, there wasnāt a replacement for Harry available because heās one of a kind, so we have to play differently with different players, and itās been three games so as Iāve said in other threads we see how that stands in January and go from there, but Iāll give the current set longer than three games to work together. Replacement wise, I couldnāt tell you which top striker was available and attainable that would have massively uplifted us, VlahoviÄ maybe suits the profile bit we wouldnāt know what we were getting u til he plays here for a bit, untested and canāt be guaranteed to have been a success, thatās before we consider price etc.
So no, I donāt think itās a great window, and no Iām not happy with how things are going, but thatās my point, I donāt think anyone is 100% happy, I just think thereās a lot of people trying to be a realist about whatās in front of them, and trying to work out how it may work in practice. Do I trust Levy? Not to get things right in every aspect, but then Iāve never said Iām happy with him either.
