I bet Coleman is relieved.

Definitely. I can't work out why he wanted the job in the first place. He had one transfer window there and managed one free transfer and four loans so it's not like he failed after trying to attend this way out of trouble. They literally gave him no money to spend.

They were just brought up. Maybe the new owners will invest. But fair play to Ellis Short for paying off their debt. Being debt free is a huge deal and will definitely help them in their quest to eventually get back to the PL

This is probably the only good thing about Short's time there. Being debt-free for the first time in a long time has many of the fans I've seen looking on the bright side and thanking him for this, while also lamenting the last however many seasons. In truth, they have been sliding away for years. Difficult to sign players without throwing wads of cash they can't afford and they end up with a mix and match of different types of players unwanted elsewhere and left over from different managers who were sacked soon after.

The guys from Eastleigh have done well before so maybe they will be able to revive Sunderland.

Is that Eastleigh near Southampton ? That’s one endnif the country to the other!

It's not like he did it out of the kindness of his heart. He's been desperately trying to sell the club for ages but nobody would buy it because of the debt and up until now he's been insisting on the new owner taking that on. Paying back the debt was the only way for him to get rid of the club.

Gerrard in at Rangers all but confirmed now.

If one person can stop Brendan Rodgers winning the league it's him. He's done it before.

Im glad Gerrard has been given the Rangers job. If he does well then maybe a Premier League club will take a chance on him. Surely we want young English managers in the league?

He will always be taunted as Slippy and/or Stevie GBH.

He has that winnIng mentality and determination but skeletons are in the cupboard.

If he does well he'll probably be the next Liverpool boss.

Looks like Hodgson has kept Palace up. I know a lot of people on here don't like him, but he's done a brilliant job there. They had that awful start where they lost their first seven games and set the record for the most games without scoring. I'm sure lots of people will say Zaha has as much to do with it as Hodgson, but they aren't the one man team that they're made it to be. If they had a decent striker they'd be much higher up the league.

Hodgson and Palace have done triffic this season considering the first few weeks and the sacking of de Boer. I'm glad they've stayed up.

This is like a parody of a "Managerial merry-go-round" thread, but it appears to be real life:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Holloway-sacked-QPR-Steve-McClaren-over.html

Will he be attempting a west London accent?

Perhaps it was Holloway's mushroom hat that did for him in the end?
