Just wait till we get another 20k seats in our new stadium

I thought Highbury and Stamford Bridge where the 2 worst grounds I had ever been to for atmosphere, but fuck me these days WHL is just a timid, quiet little ground where you need to be very careful not to upset anybody.

yep I've been to both, what makes you think WHL is any better?

Timid place!

What makes me think it? The fact that I go most weeks. It ain't what it used to be but to say it is the worst in the league is a knee jerk reaction because we got stuffed today.

Highbury used to be alright tbf. It's the emirates that's so bad ... & that's why I say wait fir the big stadium before complaining too much, an extra 20k fans who are probably 'newer' fans & the atmosphere will crash

kneejerk because we lost? lol don't be stupid, I'm talking about the crowd not the team!

think what you like but in my opinion WHL in recent years has become a morgue on match days, our home support is terrible.

I know what your talking Legend. I don't see the players singing much. As I said it ain't what it used to be but the worst in the league? Can't agree with that.

Not going to disagree with you. We're not the worst in the league but maybe it's perspective. Admittedly my ST ticket days are long gone. A decade now since I was a regular, home and away, and even taking into account the old rose-tinted, the times I've been back in '09 and '11. Jesus Kerist. The atmosphere just isn't comparable. Maybe it jarred to me because It's been a fair while and the contrast stood out more as a consequence.

So yes, certainly not the worst but I'd have put us as having one of the better crowds a few yrs back. Maybe not the best, probably not but up there. Now though. Firmly mid-table, imo.

Possibly just the way it is. The worse the football on show, the better the crowd is and vice versa.

The away boys still give it loud and proud though.

Funny seeing names, home and away, I haven't heard in years. Vic seemed to know everyone, always talking to someone. I know Denton passed a few years back. Remember that Chelsea nut with one arm? I remember a crazy Saturday after a game against someone else and we ran into them in Liverpool St maybe 79/80, up the escalator then down the escalator, seemed to go on for ages. That guy got lumped so many times and still stood even though most of their mob had disappeared.

To be honest I think the support at Premiership stadiums in general is really poor, compare atmospheres in England with other parts of Europe and you see English football what it really is for the fans, an expensive corporate experience!

Across other parts of Europe where football is affordable and less PC the atmosphere is far more intense and exciting!

I watched a Ukrainien league 1 game yesterday, about 4-5000 people and the support for the home team was amazing, probably better than any Premier league team gets!

Its like this at every stadium in our league - the home fans are good until they go a goal down, then all you hear is the away supporters, regardless of anything. The atmosphere at WHL has deteriorated, but its demise is nothing out of the ordinary.

4th season I wont be going to the lane.. got fed up with the sit down shut up attitude & the fucking once a season jcls who think they have every right to call players all the names under the sun.
never wanted to come to blows with another yid so it was time for me to walkaway.
tbh in the end I looked forward more to meeting my mates in the pub more than the game!.. loads still go on matchday but stay in the pub.
atmospheric football died long ago.

Yep. I am not saying we are like the Turks or Germans, just don't think we are the worst in the league. Did you hear the Scousers sing in their game yesterday? I listened to it on the radio and only heard the Palace fans. Maybe not the best example but you get my point.
