Just to get back to the OP. The dark side can be turned into positive stuff too. The Egyptian revolution was driven by a lot of the Ultras from different clubs. They actually fought, mainly unarmed against armed police and bore the brunt of the casualties.

Unlike mindless hooliganism, I felt this was honouring the roots of our beautiful game..

When we bear Livwrpool at Anfield for the first time in ten million years, sometime a few decades ago, my uncle and his mates were attacked by scousers afterwards. On of them was stabbed.

My uncle also managed to lose his shoe to a police horse away at west ham. The cop involved was not thrilled at my uncles attempts to retrieve said show.

The other week after we near Cardiff last minute a couple of scumbag home fans one after the other were walking down the road smacking into every spurs fan in their way, looking for a reaction. I got two fairly hefty shoulders into my ribs one after the other. I know it's nothing but I didn't care for it, I'm a bit of a softy really.

Russia does it in a way that I have no objection to at all, however many a side meet in a forest or a car park sometimes 20 miles or more away for a pre arranged meet and have a proper do. No innocent people or women and kids getting caught up, no weapons and nowhere to give it the big un and hide like those chav boys!

Hooliganism in England is not only wrong but embarrassing to because innocent people get dragged in and to be honest most of the hooligans hide behind that and of course the police.
