From what I've just heard FP and Hitchen have been keen to sell from the off. It's Levy and only Levy that has taken the stance we have and he's still not moving until his terms are met.

Fab feels there will never be a better opportunity to spend the cash this free's up. Sell him for next year for £100mil(for example) and we will get a fraction of the value we will get this Summer. We are all already completely aware of how switched on he is regarding clubs financial positions and players contracts especially in Italy, and he feels the timing on all this is perfect.

Despite all this being spelled out to him, Levy is still the ultimate stubborn toddler refusing to move unless he gets his own way. Like I said its principles that are at stake here, and he won't be bent over.
I guess Levy has a reputation to protect, but let’s hope common sense wins.

And the thing is with City if Kane fails to hit massive numbers this year for any reason, he could well be competing with one of them for places next season.
The thought of Kane on the bench next season, watching Haaland become a club legend is quite tasty.

Levy is doing the right thing, whilst i think we can all agree on wanting the players and it being a good time etc, ultimately it's still a gamble.

Plus F*ck City.... they will pay the 150m i think we all know it, they just don't want to. They themselves set the precedent that they pay over the odds so they can't cry foul now we're expecting them to.

I criticize Levy a lot but fair play as far as I'm concerned RE: Trix's info.

On this one, I completely back Levy.

He can be as stubborn, childish and tantrum throwing as he likes.

Interesting. It would seem Paratici knows the magic number he needs, and it may be less than Levy wants. He will know the value placed on the heads of the replacements he wants to bring in, and you’d assume that would include any artificial inflation clubs would place knowing we had the Kane fee.
If we hit the magic number, pull the trigger.

Buying strikers is always a bit of a lottery though (especially with us.) Look at Werner last season, everyone expected him to be brilliant in this league and he was a bit of a let down for Chelsea, so much so that they’ve splurged another hundred million on Lukaku this summer.

Also, while I’m hopeful of the potential of Scarlett, he’s still just a kid that’s not scored a senior goal, was only 18 months ago everyone was creaming themselves over Parrot.

I think people are underestimating just how damaging it’s going to be to lose Kane.
Not quite everyone I have to say, sorry.
I take your point about Troy but I think that was hope, and he could still reach his potential, but Scarlett has looked the part whenever I've seen him, certainly my opinion of him is based on what I've seen, and I think by the time he's Parrot's age he'll be in the first team squad.
Yes you're right we'll miss Kane but I'm hopeful we're dealing with the consequences as best can be.

I agree to a point. What I would say is that perhaps things might have happened a bit quicker had it not been a strategy to just slam the phone down every time they called. Maybe if Fab had have been given a minimum number and actually talked to them. As I've said before I totally understand Levy's stance, just not sure the tactics are entirely the right ones. I mean if you have zero intention of selling then fine, but if you do have a number in mind then being slightly amicable is probably worth while.
I also remember in Levy’s PR vid he did during the manager search he was asked about Kane and he said that Fabio is the one who will decide which players come and go. Clearly he’s gone back on that.

Can definitely see both sides to this. And agree with both.

FP and Hitchen, being footballing men, are always going to see the bigger picture in terms of having that much money to spend on making the squad better and more well-rounded, especially as you say, with the current market. Now is absolutely the time to do that because rather than 1 or 2 quality additions we could get 3 or 4 instead.

But, Levy is absolutely in the right with not buckling. This process needs to make City (and Kane) suffer a bit, and send a message to the footballing world that you shouldn't be bullied by underhand, classless tactics. City are doing a lot to undermine our position and are clearly advising Kane on how to get out of the club. All so they can get it cheaper. I would be just as stubborn as DL, if that was the case.

Hopefully, City will get closer to Levy's valuation and soon.

It’s this and a hundred times this. Sell to them and what happens when they want Son in two years time or Scarlett (if he’s a success) in five?

Play fucking hardball. Refuse to sell. There’s more at stake here than just Harry Kane. There’s also more at stale that just THFC. Stand up to bullies, that’s what you do. If you don’t they keep coming back for more. If we do that, then maybe the rest of football does too when they come calling for one of their players. They are ruining the game, why not be the hero who stands up to them first? I can tell you the rest of football will thank us for it.

The problem is not if any of us agree with Levy in regard to Kane - is that Levy still hasn't removed himself from the football side of the club.

I think Levy can fairly insist that his DoF negotiate an eye watering transfer fee, but needs to recognise he knows nothing about actual football.

What is the point in slamming the phone down and refusing to negotiate when he knows he is going to fold like a deck chair in the wind with 2 weeks to go.

It is always the same.

If you start engaging with City when they are offering say £40m + players (which they can try and argue is a lot), that psychologically becomes the general region of the fee. It might go up by £20m cash but that becomes the baseline.

Kane is worth £150m cash to us as a team. Levy is spot on to dismiss discussions until the start behaving. Back channels will have told them how much we expect.

It's frustrating for us on the outside but we are talking about a huge gulf in price difference. Its too far to move a low ball offer up to our price through negotiations.

If they come in and offer £130m cash (plus some players maybe) I have no doubt Levy would start talking.

To be fair to him (and he deserves lots of criticism) he was probably only ever going to do this with one player (Kane). This isn't a player that you easily discard or let go for a lower valuation. Levy is seeing the bigger picture in his mind. And if City do come back with a bigger bid or close to what DL wants, then everyone wins.

I’m of the view if you’ve brought Paratici in to rebuild the squad then let him get on with it and back him, and that includes what to do about Kane.

How are you getting angry at Levy for stubbornly refusing to sell one of the best players in our history to a club with unlimited finances for less than market value? ?

I'm not huge Levy fan but the guy can't win...

where have i got angry? i said levy isnt listening to the two blokes he has employed for transfers etc, they both will know what is happening around Europe in regards to teams finances more than levy, and i stated as long as we're not being held to ransom by saying "as long as we're not butt fucked" perhaps you should re-read what i ACTUALLY wrote, we either take 120/140 or whatever the figure is this season, or wait a year anf get max 100m IMO next season, i know what i'd prefer.
