Anyone think it's a bit odd that we're suddenly being linked to so many CM/DMs?

I would've thought that between Hojbjerg and Skipp we had DM covered, while we have Dele, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Winks scrapping for the other 2 CM spots (along with one of Skipp/Hojbjerg too).

Unless Nuno doesn't trust Skipp or we're planning to flog Ndombele, it seems like we're actually OK in that area and would be better off spending money elsewhere. It's not like the names we're being linked to are groundbreaking talents, either.

IF we sell Sissoko and Winks then we need a midfielder lol

Kane deal get's done early next week IMO.

I think it's lined up straight after we've played them.

I've felt it would be this or last few days of transfer window and we had strikers in already to "partner" Kane.

As much as I ultimately want Kane gone, this is a such a transitional season for us, keeping him can be worth more than £Xm we'll lose.

We could have an almost new backline and front line. It's a lot of new people to integrate at the same time.
But I'd rather do it all now, short term pain, long term gain.

Be interesting to see if City have put their big boy pants on this time around, and actually come in with a serious offer.

I kinda hope they do, I've had enough of this saga and the fallout already, and personally want it done in order to crack on with the rebuild.

No doubt play silly buggers and offer around £120m

Suspect that we're being prepared for Kane's departure at the end of the window. That means I'd expect us to be doing an absolute madness in the next couple of weeks, spending the cash before everyone knows we have it. If nothing else, this place should be fun!

Times ticking. You'd hope so!

I just keep saying to myself surely City need a top quality striker this season, therefore I've always been confident that they're gonna pay up

What a coincidence City come back with another offer few days before we play them. Doing their best to unsettle our player and weaken us before we play them. Hate the scum and there dirty money!

For all City’s dominance in the EPL it hasn’t translated to success in Europe. To my mind Grealish doesn’t do enough to move them past a strengthened Chelsea and PSG in the big games and that is because City don’t have the firepower to foot it in the big one offs. They are crying out for a quality striker and today there is only Kane, expecting them to do what they need to to complete this deal.

They unsettled him a long time ago.
Im pretty certain Nuno will have been setting up to play without him and trying to have the squads focus on the game not Kane.

Hopefully we don't play Kane against them. He doesn't deserve to start above the other players who care about the club and turn up to train! I know people say he be profesional and will perform if he started, i disagree he has shown the opposite to me with the Neville interview, not training etc. I think if he started he won't bother his arse incase of injury. Time to sell him.

I can imagine them calling and saying:

"We're still willing to offer £100m, what with him refusing to train and putting in a transfer request"

"He hasn't done either of those things"

"Oh. Ok, we'll call you back, we just need to make another call"

"Hello, is that Charlie?"

As has been mentioned, I don't think he could move yet anyway because of the isolation period, so the fun hasn't even started.

How is everyone interpreting @Hercules comment?
That they haven't come back Yet?
That the new offer is still way off and therefore just gonna piss off DL etc?

SIGNINGS
I have said this a few times, but worth a repeat! We have money! Still will bring in circa 4 more; which is not dependent on ‘outs!’. Add another (5) if Kane is lined up to go. Told that club extremely happy with the new signings, and the expected arrivals, which may go into the last week. We have the advantage over the selling clubs. Barca been throwing a lot of players at us, which we have no interest in. Paratici being quiet with no major media leaks is a good thing. COYS

Add to this they’ve lost Aguero who was their best CF, they were always going to have to add a player in attack, and it would need to be a bold statement signing if they want to kick on. That’s what makes me think this gets done, just got to go through all the posturing first so both sides can spin it as a win. Spurs hand is strongest, we have Kane under contract for 3 more years, he’s the England captain, top goalscorer and top assist last year. If we keep him for another 12 months, his potential goals will be worth the lost revenue on sale with 12 months less contract.
