It would be good to field a bit strong team, i fully agreed with AVB the draw at home coudn't help, and if we lost this one, we could be out im group stages, which isn't good, now it's different case when Redknapp arrived..

Lloris
Smith Dawson Caulker Naughton
Huddlestone Carroll
Falque Sigurdsson Townsend
Adebayor/Dempsey
Cudicini, Vertonghen, Walker, Dembeley, Bale, Mason, Defoe
playing Dempsey wouldn't hurt, as he can be benched vs Villa, as Sigurdsson didn't play that much vs united, this must let all players play around 2 games from 3 at most, which is fair enough.

Can't believe you're dropping Friedel. That's just plain and simple out of order.

i'll be completely honest though, i really think that a team full of verts would perform better overall than many teams in the europa league. top quality he is

After the home draw to Lazio we need a win. Our players need a rest but then I don't like just throwing a team of youngsters together.

After the win vs Man Utd I really want to the focus to be on the league and as such I am all for resting as many key 1st team players as possible. It is imperative for our league form that we maintain that momentum.

Don't want to give the UEFA cup up by any stretch, but if there is a chance to rest players to give them that extra freshness for Sunday, then so much the better.

That being said, I could see Vertonghen starting at LB with a view to sub him all being well.

Think AVB wants to take this as seriously as he can, so despite what i want, i think we might see more 1st teamers start than we might expect.

Real shame that Parker and Ade aren't back yet.

When is Adebayor back?

yeah what is the story with adebayor how can he be injured so long and not even play pre season yet, would be great to have him back in mid week get him a game under his belt,

In my opinion, it's speculative at best, but here's something I found:

K Naughton..........Ankle/Foot Injury............7th Oct 12

J Livermore..........Groin Strain....................no return date

E Adebayor...........Hamstring Injury.............7th Oct 12

B Assou-Ekotto.....Knee Injury.....................20th Oct 12

Y Kaboul..............Knee Injury.....................Dec 12

S Parker..............Achilles Tendinopathy.......20th Oct 12

If Ade is not going to be fit for the Villa game, surely we cannot risk Defoe picking up an injury.

I'd say Lloris, Smith, Dawson, Hudd and Townsend are absolutely nailed on to start. Caulker is young enough to go again, Dempsey hasn't played that much so should be fine, then I'd probably say rest a few of the others. I'd go with pretty much what Spurs_Q8 said. Looks a pretty strong side to me.
