After a wrenching defeat against the Scousers, a home game entertaining Fulham represents a great match to shake this defeat off and get our Champions League charge back on track.

Ultimately, a lot depends on Lennon's fitness but with early optimism that he will possibly feature against Inter at the San Siro, I will plump with;

Lloris

Naughton Dawson Vertonghen BAE

Parker Dembele

Lennon Bale Sigurdsson

*Defoe (begrudgingly)

*Adebayor if he is fit.

If Ade and Lennon are fit:
Lloris
Naughton Gallas Vertonghen BAE
Parker Dembele
Lennon------Bale------Sigurdsson
Adebayor
Friedel, Walker, Dawson, Huddlestone, Carroll, Holtby, Defoe

Whilst I understand Walker made a complete fuck up I don't think it warrants Naughton playing and that just seems like people's reaction to his mistake. He didn't play badly in the game and had been playing well recently, so to drop him on the back of an error like that would be madness imo. It's not like Naughton deserves the chance. Hopefully this is a wakeup to Walker and he'll get his head down and recover (besides he put in a couple of nice crosses after the mistake, so at least he stood up and tried to put things right).

We would actually DESTROY teams at the Lane with this formation, IMO.

I agree with you mate, but i would consider dropping Walker just to give the young guy a rest. I think he has played in the most games this season along with Azza

Yeah I can see why you would do that in terms of giving him a rest. However I just think mentally it would cause more harm, certainly rather than allowing him opportunity to get over that mistake and improve from it.

Ok, so having played ET at the San Siro, some players like Parker will be absolutely knackered, he's my team.

Lloris

Walker Dawson Caulker Benny

Livermore Dembele

Lennon Sig Bale

Defoe

I'm only playing Livermore because I'm pretty sure Parker will be crawling onto the plane he'll be that tired and playing Defoe because only played an hour, Ade played double that.

I think that's pretty much spot on - and with Bale, Siggy interchanging etc. Was going to select that exact side. Adebayor can come on if needs be, either for Defoe or someone else if we need to go 4-4-2. Dempsey for Siggi if he tires.

As for the rest of it, Lloris, Dawson, Ekotto and Bale are completely fresh. Defoe, Livermore and Lennon only played around half the full 120 minutes tonight (roughly)

A nice balance of freshness without compromising the strength of the side.

After tonight, we'll be so fucking tired that Fulham might run us into the ground.

Not really, if AVB thinks about it - which I'm sure he will. We can still pick a team two thirds of which shouldn't be feeling leggy.

I'd rather Ade but it depends on how his fitness is after playing through to ET at Milan.

That's it. Siggi will still be raring to go after getting some recent game time and Dempsey should enjoy playing against his old side although I doubt he'll start.
