Very poor? What possesses you to come out with this trash? Did little wrong against Liverpool, we kept 2 clean sheets in the games before that, and against Arsenal he fucking saved us from losing.

I can't think of 1 goal that was his fault. Please enlighten me if this is not the case.
I wouldn't say very poor, but I think some of his 1v1 defending has been scary.

Wimmer has been very poor lately. Cant always rely on Lloris making ridiculous saves if Dier or Toby cant clean up his mess. Utd has been in good form lately and we are on our last shred of hope of a title run. Vertonghen must start. We need his presence in the team.

Wimmer's distribution concerns me a little, he has a habit of whacking the ball at people already marked, but it was Dier who cost us the goal at Anfield, not Wimmer, who defensively has largely been fine, bar the odd blip as JH said, he stopped a certain goal against Liverpool and also rescued us from losing against ten man Arsenal.

Lloris also rarely makes "ridiculous" saves, he makes good saves but one's most of the time I'd be disappointed if he didn't. And he puts the defence under pressure at least once or twice a game with his poor distribution choices.

Would swap dembele and alli around for this one and of course lamela has got to play.

This, I still don't understand why we don't push Dembele up front. He presses like Lamela and when up there winning a ball he can use his dribbling to create. I also think it just makes his mental state so much better.

When he played up top at the beginning of the season, I think he played so much better. He is beast either way, but he has goals in him, just need to get him in space.

Only question really is, will Vertonghen be fit enough to be among the subs?
(and if so, which one of Trippier or Davies to put on the bench)

Lloris-
Walker-----Toby-----Wimmer-------Rose
-----Dier-------Dembele---------
------------.
Lamela--Alli---Eriksen-.-----------
Kane

Vorm, Davis, Verts, Mason, Onomah, Son, Chadli/Njie

This is and the Chelsea game we have to have our strongest XI, and if Jan was fit enough I'd play him instead of Wimmer

this is one game we could really do with a repeat of the Bournemouth game, 2 early goals. hopefully we will be going into this match either still 7 a drift or maximum 8pts, if its either of those we will most probably have a 12th man too, but with that extra loudness even though this game usually produces a great atmosphere

edit: when I say strongest XI I'm not saying they shouldn't play for our remaining 6 games, but if you were to rotate the full backs these 2 games are not an option

Lack of end product. He played on the right and in the number 10 role several times last season and created very little for us. He is excellent at getting past an opponent but his vision and range of passing is dissapointing. Don't get me wrong I think he is a good player but lacks certain things in his game, which is normal. When playing next to Dier he provides the team retaining of possession.

No chance Wimmer gets dropped at the drop of a hat, and why should he? It would send out completely the wrong message to him and the squad

If Son had played well in Lamela's absence then the same would apply. But he didn't, so it doesn't

I completely agree on all of that honestly. I can't quite remember what series of games it was this year, but early on (think Chelsea) and he was just pressing and winning the ball back high up the pitch. Still retains possession up there and he was just thinking so much faster. He used to be a forward and had a decent return at Fulham if I remember correctly.

Either way I love the guy as he is just an immovable object at points. Like anyone he has his moments of weakness and he gave the ball away at some dangerous positions against Liverpiss.

But in Poch I trust. I am just a fan :)

You'd have to pick Trippier for the bench I suppose, what with Jan's ability to also cover the left back position.

Some unnecessary attention seeking in this thread.

Team picks itself assuming Lamela is fit again.

Hopefully verts back on the bench.

Tactically, I'd like to see mousa given license to go forward a bit more, and LVG to pick marta on the wing again where he struggles to make an impact.

We owe this lot, haven't beaten them at home for donkeys....

Leave Alli out? lol. Best players play all 6 remaining games. Hate to use the phrase but its 6 cup finals, don't over think the team selection.

People asking for Vertonghen to be straight back in, when have we even known Poch to put a player straight back in after injury?

This should and will be the team

Lloris
Walker Toby Wimmer Rose
Dier Dembele
Lamela Alli Eriksen
Kane
We all know it's our strongest side. They all have to play.

Alli is someone who, with both his quality and attitude, can influence the game positively or come on and produce a game changing moment- something that our subs haven't done all the time. Given he didn't look his normal self last game, i'd consider giving him this role for Utd. Certainly not against him starting though, not at all. Just thinking of options. I also think with Mason in there we would perhaps move the ball more quickly forward from deep, something Dier/Dembele occasionally lack.
