Lloris

Walker Toby Wimmer Rose

Dier Dembele

Eriksen Mason Alli

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Bentaleb, Carroll, Son, Chadli

No Lamela at all? Really? Or is that just a mistake?
I'd start him personally.

If Lamela pulls up ok tomorrow he should play, otherwise Son to start. The rest picks itself

Wenger is full of shite I'm guessing, no way he would give that info away ahead of the nld.

Petr Cech (hamstring) and Laurent Koscielny (calf) are both expected to miss Saturdays' north London derby

They do it every season. For a big club like Arsenal, it's a very small time approach imo.
A week before playing us there's usually a story or two about key players missing etc, then they start.

Cech? Koscielny? Don't care. All we need to worry about is who we can field.

Yeah it seems everyone is going for the same 11 and I would agree. I think Lamela gives more than Son at the minute! I think Son will come good next year and then into a top player but he is clearly getting used to the hard training sessions, new league, new country etc!

He does, but quite subtly, if you watch closer.

What's a layer in this context?

He needs another out and out striker that's certain, either a target man or fox in the box. And apparently he didn't really want one last window, although he might have wanted a young one, according to levy at the last trust meet. Surely the trust should have pressed him after giving such an unclear response?

Poch has learnt every step of the way so far, no reason to think he can't actually see what the rest of us can see and properly address I it in the summer.

As to whether real competition for, as well as a complementary player alongside Harry have meant the difference in this years surprise title tilt? Well, it's too soon for that, and we will never find out anyway...

Same team for me on sat as mr pink btw, hope our beast is close enough to 100 per cent to do his usual job for 70 mins.

This season another can be provided by switching to 4-3-3.

Next season another layer can be provided by signing a wide dribbler and a striker that's completely different to Kane.

We played with 3 at the back tonight.

It never worked.

His response was too late and a last resort at that point.

Worked perfectly or Wham tonight. Pulled the wool over Poch's eyes.

To a certain degree I agree.

But I don't think their formation won them the game.

They clearly wanted it more than us and along with giving the ball away on so many occasions and a number of players off form, West Ham deserved it imo.

I'll go with the OP line up.

We were out fought by a big physical side on a pitch that suited their approach and stifled our normal game.

Saturday we can get our passing game back. And agree with how most people see the line up.

Just hope we're not too fatigued. Rose and Walker should be well rested so hopefully we can come out firing.

Right, swiftly on to the next one:

Lloris

Walker
Toby
Wimmer
Rose

Dier
Dembele

Lamela
Alli
Eriksen

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Carroll, Mason, Chadli, Son

This,
and swap Davies for Bentaleb on the bench.

I wish there was a clever alternative to starting with Kane. But there isn't.

Same team as the OP. Mason or Carroll to slot in alongside Dier if Dembele doesnt make it it.

I think essential that Alli plays in the AM3, always seems to pick up the space between the opp defence and midfield.

For me Alli, Eriksen and Lamela is our strongest three behind Kane.

I didn't see it but apparently Cech went up for a corner at the end and pulled his hamstring as he was running back

That said, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he starts such are Wengers attempts at these sort of shenanigans in the past. :cautious:

Lloris

Dier Dembele
Lamela Alli Eriksen
Kane

If dembele isn't fit then bring Son in, I think the west ham game showed yet again that Son isn't good as a sub and Chadli isn't a strong starter so it's no brainer for me.

EDIT: in my sleepy state I put Davies over Rose and have no reason why I did..

Cech injury is groin according to Wenger.
Already had a problem with it before the game and aggravated it at the end.

They are without Koscielny AND Cech. We have to take advantage of that.

Id leave Coco on the bench, he can come on like he did against City.

Moussa please and Kane to show up, we need him
This worries me. I can understand his caution playing with a broken nose, but at the moment he's a shadow of the player he was earlier in the season. Avoiding headers, and almost avoiding physical contact with other players makes him half a player. But what can we do? Drop him? Though maybe that's not a bad idea as we won pretty well without him.
