Just watched some YouTube vids on Olise, yes I know YouTube can be deceiving but he looks very good.
Actually reminded me a bit of Mousa Dembele

I actually think the opposite. I think Lucas, Lamela, Aurier will be relatively easy to get off the books. Winks, Sissoko, Dier are the ones who I imagine will cause us the most headaches.

I think Lamela/Aurier will be straight forward given their contract situations and the clubs they're linked to. I think Winks probably wants to leave doesn't he from what we've heard. Moura as I said, I hope he's looking to move on but can see it being difficult as reckon we have a high value on him. I think Sissoko and Dier will be impossible to move  They're the first 2 on my list for people to leave.

Lamela apparently going back to Italy this summer. What could we get for him? £15-18m?
Use the money to go and buy Olise from Reading.

Should be an absolute no brainer.

I get the feeling that Winks has high a estimation of his value and skillset, so much so, that he's most likely to have a Danny Rose moment with Levy and say something absurd like "Have Madrid or Barca made contact about me?":LOL:

I think Erik's contract expires next year + all his injuries, I can see a deal around £9-11m for him. Should be enough for Olise.

Didn't realise he's in the last year of his contract. But I think Reading will probably want closer to £20m. Which we should still pay, because he's honestly worth it.

There will be a few clubs in for Olise. I think Bayern were linked too. We need to get in early and not try to low ball Reading

Out: Sissoko, Winks, Dele, Dier, Lamela, Lucas, Aurier. That should be able to net us about £110m. Not renewing Bale's loan adds another £12m(if we use his wages toward the transfer budget). So let's say 122m. I'd look to sell Davies too which could get us about £15-20m. So let's go best case scenario is £140m. Then you got Foyth going for £15m, CCV possibly, Gazzaniga possibly. Maybe about £160m total.

In: Skriniar - £50m, Aarons - £25m, Grealish - £75m, Sabitzer - £40m, Olise - £15m. Total £200-205m. Would require a net spend of £40-60m but honestly, that is probably what needs to happen for us to have any shot of hopefully getting us back up there competing. And it would be MORE than worth it if we win something and it convinces Kane to want to stay. Probably have to get a backup striker in January though.

Lloris
Aarons Skriniar Alderweireld Reguilon
Ndombele Hojbjerg Sabitzer
Son Kane Grealish

Hart, Rodon, Tanganga, Sessegnon, Skipp, GLC, Olise, Bergwijn, Scarlett/Parrott

This is very Fifa Career Mode unfortunately, as I agree with the targets and that its the only way we will compete in the short term. Sabitzer is never going to be £40mill though as he will have 1 year left on his contract. Looking at £20 mill max imo.

Still think we'll be doing a fair bit of business with players who have one year left on their contracts. My preferred ins from that list of players are:

CB
James Tarkowski (HG | 28)
Transfer fee guess: £15-17million

CM/DM
Marcel Sabitzer (27)
Transfer fee guess: £14-16 million

Denis Zakaria (24)
Transfer fee guess: £18-20 million

AM
Michael Olise ( HG | 19 )
Transfer fee guess: £18-20 million

David Brooks ( HG | 23)
Transfer fee guess: £17-19 million

ST
Adam Armstrong ( HG | 24 )
Transfer fee guess: £17-19 million

OUTS:
Sissoko - £12-14 million
Lamela - £8-10 million
Lucas - £20-24 million
Dier - £24-26 million
Winks - £18-20 million
Rose - Free
Aurier - £12-14 million

I can understand the reservations over Grealish.

He's absolutely a bit of an off-field drama, as we've seen, so there's an underlying behavioural thing. He also plays for his boyhood team, as the captain, and isn't really ever in a situation where he'd find himself out of the team.

I don't know what money he's on, but it's far from guaranteed that he'd have a big move and still crack on as per before. He wouldn't be the first or last to go from big fish in little pond, to expensive turd. We'll probably find out at some point, but it's logical to have reservations.

People have reservations over Grealish?!

@SlumDilla What type of midfielder is Zakaria, if I remember correctly I think JJ said we looked in the past but we decided it wasn’t a host.

Very similar profile to Wanyama. Denis is 6'3 and is physically imposing. Mainly a DM, he can also play as a box-2-box CM and he likes to break forward when he's won the ball. Good close control and long legs that allow him to win the ball cleanly off the opposition players. Also, quite press-resistant and trusts his own ability to receive the ball in tight spaces and either play his way out or pass his way out. Assured passer and similar to PEH in the sense that he will try and make life easier for his teammates. It might seem like we're overloading with DMs if we sign Zakaria, when we have PEH and Skipp but Zakaria has way higher ceiling than PEH and we would be silly to pass up a player of his potential. Also, very versatile - can play in a back 3 as a CB and put his height to good use to win aerial duels.

Very good compilation below - I started the clip at most of his defensive actions.

It saddens me when our own fans become ugly to our own players and more so players who have come through our ranks. There's one thing a player having limitations as a player and making mistakes vs players who are mercenary in their nature and give half hearted performances when they bothered eg Ndombele on occasion.

I'm always then amazed when a star player wants to leave and we go on about loyalty etc...honour your fucking contract you signed etc etc etc. Winks might be a limited footballer but he tries.

I know I'm responding to your post but it's truly not meant to attack your post it's just one of many I see and have meant to reply on it. I see so many posters do this...especially to home grown or players having been here for some years.

To be honest, I think the animosity towards winks currently stems from the ITK about him being a trouble maker behind the scenes.
I doubt mark noble ever acted like winks has when he’s been out of the team
That coupled with his recent performances (which, let’s be honest don’t really demonstrate someone who is trying to do anything for the benefit of the team), certainly make me feel like he doesn’t act like one of our own.

Take the Villa game for example. Which one of the midfield two (three if you include dele) was always making themselves available to receive the ball? Who did the closing down?
who was trotting around?
Who was hiding?

using your reasoning, surely it would be a mercenary, not the boy from the academy who’s a spurs fan through and through, living the dream, right?

It’s a shame he’s not cemented a place in the team, like Kane. It’s even sadder that he’s getting picked above more talented players.

Let me stop you there. Winks does not try. If you want to know why fans "become ugly" towards Winks it's due to his cowardice and lack of effort. Let's not confuse lack of ability and effort. Winks has ability but he's not interested in fighting for the team. Don't believe me? Watch this clip of his performance in the CC final.

You can skip to 2:02 to see the Winks breakdown.

And then you can follow that up with this really insightful analysis that @Mannnos put together in the link below

Add to that, what if I told you he's known to be a bit of a complainer/moaner? It wouldn't matter if he was HG or a foreign player, if a player fails to give his all in games but feels comfortable running to press to complain about not getting minutes, I want him gone.

Reserve your sadness for a player that actually deserves it. Winks is a player that was highly rated, who put in some great performances early in his career, who sadly suffered an injury, recovered from said injury to put in some good performances and then has decided to phone it in for the last 2-3 years. Fans will never turn on a player who gives it there on the pitch. We might criticize the limited footballer who tries but we never turn ugly on that type of player. We just really dislike cowardice and Winks just happens to be one of the biggest cowards on the team.
