For a start Fabregas is nearly 30 and was signed by Mourinho, not Conte. Barkley is 23 and needs to be at a club where he will play virtually every game in order to kick on, not be a rotation option.

Barkley should stay at Everton if that's the case, because he won't be an automatic starter for any of the top 6.

Plus he probably, and rightly so has enough confidence in his ability to think that he can force his way into a bigger team.

I think we might sign Zaha, Barkley and a centre-half. And I think Lamela might leave, along with Sissoko, N'koudou & Onomah.

We might also trade Janssen for another back-up striker, although I'd be happy to have him & Son in reserve again.

Janssen & Son in reserve 'again'. You cannot be serious. I have no issues with both staying, but only if another striker comes in. If one has to be sold tonrdjease funds, then I am up for it, and that would be Janssen. Really hope he kicks on though.

No way would Janssen stick around if we sign another centre forward. We'll know by the end of the season whether he has a future here.

I am not sure about that. We need 3 strikers, with the third being s flexible striker. In this day and age you can't rely on 2 strikers, because you play one up front. And 'Sonny' is not that. He just does not hold possession that well.

When you play one centre forward and the main man is as dominant as Kane, no way would Janssen move down to third choice. He'd lose his place in the Dutch side.

I think two centre forwards and a utility forward is fine as the blend in a squad like ours - it's just that Janssen has struggled so badly when coming into the team this year.

Either he proves himself to Poch in the next few weeks or we sell and replace in the summer IMO.

Why did we employ a new scouting team if we are dead set on spunking loads of cash on Barkley, Zaha and Keane?

Can I be a Spurs scout too? Easiest job in the world

Remember two of those players will have 12 months on their contracts. So immediately when we buy them their value will rocket on the balance sheet. It's part of Levy's strategy of finding value in this crazy transfer market.

So it will offset the losses we will make on Sissoko, njie and gkn. Sweet

Some press stories saying that our transfer 'committee' (Levy, Pochmeister and McDermott) are targeting young and PL savvy players - Barkely, Zaha and the two Grays or is it Gray and Grey?

Zaha I'd take, we need some players who can beat a man.

Saw this on squawka the other day

Most take-ons completed in Europe's top 5 leagues since 2014/15:
Eden Hazard (388)
Neymar (366)
Lionel Messi (363)
Wilfried Zaha (311)

i think zaha is criticized mainly due to his lack of end product though

and you don't have to consider the feasibility of transfer, the club's financial position and the manager's preference too

Pleased as I was for him to have finally got a goal from open play the other week, I can't see us sticking with him I would imagine Janssen, sissoko and wimmer would probably depart.

yeah that's what killed Andros too, could beat the player but what he did next was almost always the wrong choice.

Haven't seen much of Zaha, does he get his head up?

I liked townsend, I didn't mind him cutting inside and shooting although at times excessive. I'd rather have kept someone like townshend than spend 30m on fucking Zaha

Doesn't matter how many times you "beat a man" if you do F-all with the ball after it.
