I actually think it the problem with the right sided player that was solved with 3-4-3. Eriksen always plays well coming off the left, Son plays better there, even Alli at a pinch, but with Lamela out, and Sissoko looking garbage there, that right sided AM has been a problem position.
Yeah, i just corrected my post to say right instead of left. Hopefully we get Lamela back before the end of the season. Dream signing for that position this summer would be Bernardeschi.

Ultimately we need to find a No 10, who has the pace to move out wide if the situation requires it - like Hazard or Coutinho. The problem with all our creative players, bar Son, is that they are all a bit one paced.

I know exactly what you mean. Lorenzo Insigne would be ideal. Yet another megabucks solution from me

From what I saw of him a few years ago, Hirving Lozano might be the right kind of player to come in. Just whether he can make the switch from Liga MX to the Premier League...wouldn't cost the world. United were interested over the summer.

I dunno, I thought Bernardeschi has got nice technique whenever I've seen him, but again a bit one paced. I want someone who can move the ball quickly but also take people on.

GK - Lloris, Vorm, Lopez
RWB - Walker, Trippier/Walker-Peters
LWB - Rose, New Signing 1
RCB - Dier/New Signing 2, Carter-Vickers
CB - Alderweireld, Wimmer/New Signing 3
LCB - Vertonghen, Davies
DM - Wanyama, Dier/New Signing 2
CM - Dembele, Winks, Onomah
AM - Eriksen, Lamela
SS - Alli, Son
CF - Kane, Janssen, New Signing 4

Sales - Trippier?, Wimmer?, Bentaleb, Njie, Sissoko?, Nkoudou?

New Signing 1 (LWB) - Not sure, but I'm dubious Sessegnon is the answer just yet.
New Signing 2 (RCB or DM) - Depends on where Poch better sees Dier playing.
New Signing 3 (CB) - An understudy for Alderweireld, potentially does Wimmer have the goods? If not, get a new player.
New Signing 4 (CF) - Batshuayi type mobile CF, someone capable of playing up top, or off the shoulder of Kane/Janssen.

I've missed your daily posts theorising different transfer window scenarios :)

He was, but he's not naturally a RB, he's a CM. it's just Barca's only proper RB, Vidal (even he is more winger) is out for a while. Essentially they never replaced Dani Alves and instead of buying a proper replacement thought they could just convert Sergi.
Would love them to go for Bellerin, he's ex Barca too.

Less attainable than dembele already though
Monaco are no fools, they will want the same sort of financial package that they got for Martial... if not more. Chance of us getting any of their hot prospects is pretty much zip. We just don't spend that kind of coin.

You are probably right. The only thing that might bring his price down in comparison (and its a tiny might) is that he only has 2 years left on his contract (Martial had 3) and has only started about half the number of games that Martial had in his last season and he is also only joint 3rd top scorer for them, where as Martial was joint top, so more important to them at the time. Completely scraping the barrel of hope with those though.

I would like us to sign him, and he would not get in the way if Winks. Our squad needs improving. No need for tunnel vision.

It's exactly the same sort of regressive attitude that had people saying they didn't want us to sign Alli because he'd 'get in the way' of Onomah. Guess that turned out alright in the end.

GK - Lloris, Vorm, Lopez
RB - Walker, Trippier, (KWP)
LB - Rose, Davies (KWP)
CB - Alderweireld, Verts, Wimmer, CCV
DM - Wanyama, Dier
CM - Dembele, Winks, (Onomah). (Edwards)
AM - Eriksen, Lamela, Alli, Son
ST - Kane,

23 man squad. KWP can cover LB and RB, might be best to send him out for a year on loan.

Sales - Bentaleb 16m, Njie 7m, Sissoko 10m (or a packet of crisps), Nkoudou 7m Janssen 7m = 47m. Levy would probably get 60m. Say we add another 40m, then we would spend 100m.

So, we need a striker and pacy winger. I would go for Lacazette and Mahrez. Both 25, both pacy, full of tricks and can score goals. We don't really struggle defensively, but we definitely need backup to Kane and if Son plays on the left and Mahrez on the right we would be very dangerous stretching teams. If Leicester go down, then might get Mahrez on the cheap. He isn't on form so would probably cost 20m. Lacazette was rumoured at 40m last year.

Out - Lamela (reluctantly), Davies, Sissoko, Wimmer, Janssen

In - Mahrez, Lacazette, Sessegnon and another young CB

= champions

I've been highlighting it as a problem position for 3 seasons. It's been a glaring weakness in our squad for that long.

A player which I would love for us to get is Kelechi Iheanacho. He has proven that he is capable of scoring goals in this league and he is still very young. He has pretty much fallen down the pecking order at City as I don't really see him getting many games with them having both Aguero and Gabriel Jesus as quality strikers. Saying that, I don't know how much they would be willing to sell him to us.
