Hey @thinktank , you think anyone wants to call you out for saying we aren't clinical and it leads to shit results now? No, I didn't think so.

I know it's been said many times already but it just makes the selling of Dembele even more annoying and those responsible for making that decision are getting what they deserve.

Can't see us getting anything at Anfield or Etihad, but there's now massive pressure on us for all the other games as I think we'll need to win them all. On paper the tricky one is Bournemouth away but we should win the others. Gonna need others to slip up as well too though.

Honestly after this run in the league, I've really lost faith in us. The mentality was awful in this and Burnley in particular, it wasn't the mentality of winners at all.

A 3 week break and Liverpool looming afterwards just leaves me not wanting to give a shit either to be honest.

We have been papering the cracks when we beat Fulham, Watford, Newcastle and Leicester (prior to our loss at Burnley) and now it has come to bite us in the rump.

Well, I went for a walk to let some of the anger out but it hasn't really worked.

This is the first time I've been disappointed in this Spurs team. Sure, been disappointed in results and form and performances at times but first time I've questioned their desire as a group under Poch.

They built up so much credit in the bank for the way they've negotiated the injury crisis, the stadium delay and the lack of reinforcement. They could have collapsed after United and I wouldn't have blamed them.

But to get through that - to get past Dortmund - and then to put in such a complacent second half against a relegation threatened side is just criminal. Until they learn that this game against Southampton was just as important - if not more important - than the performance at Dortmund then they will never get anywhere. They had to go as if it was the Champions League final until the game was won. Southampton were there for the taking and we frittered the whole thing away.

Kane has to take as much responsibility as anyone else for missing what should have been a double hat-trick but an inquest has to be held into the defending for their first goal. How the fuck it gets past Sanchez, then Verts - only for Danny to jump out of the fucking way of the ball is almost worth a stewards inquiry.

They owe us a big end to the season. And owe it to themselves.

It's typical Tottenham, doing well and real position to push on but no investment. Goes pear shape and then end up having to spend more next year. Eat sleep repeat.

Absolute fucking joke of a team. These players will always lets us down eventually. Too many just not good enough. Not mentally tough enough. And never will be.
We need a clear out. A massive clear out.
Today was more than a defeat this feels like a season defining defeat. A defeat we will not get over. So poor. So abject.
Make no mistake today was the day our top four place died.
Absolutely no way will that team get in the top four. They’re done. It’s over.
Trying to look forward to Qarabag, Bate Borisov and Genk in next seasons Europa League group.
We should be used to failure by now anyway but it’s still painful. We’ll have the odd glory night, but ultimately fail in the end. Failure follows us around like a bad smell.
3 trophies in 34 years? Just laughable.
We shouldn’t be surprised though should we?
No signings. No ambition to win anything.
There is still only one word that sums this club up perfectly.... Spursy

It'd be financially crazy for the owners of a club in a league with five teams far richer than them to go for a business model that relied on being at least fourth every year without fail. And while there's plenty of valid reasons to criticise ENIC, they're far, far from crazy or stupid. When we started the stadium we were a Europa side with no particular sign of that changing. It was viable then. It's viable now whether we're 1st or 7th.

I wholeheartedly agree with that, I’m not saying the club will collapse without CL football.

But to say we’d fare the same whatever happens would be madness. Look at Arsenal these last two years. They’ve tumbled down the financial tables and they’ve got no money to spend. We can’t compete with the big(ger) boys on a good day, and we will certainly feel an extra pinch if we fail to get back into the CL spots this season. A QF run this season will be doing us a world of good though.

On the flip side, I find it warming that Tottenham are showing such a dedicated tribute to the recently passed Keith Flint, by playing like it's 1997.

Lovely gesture.

Crazy amount of anger & animosity in here.

I thought the whole world wanted shitty Trippier, Aurier & Davies to be sent to jail, creating starting births for Rose & KWP.

You got what you want & still aren't happy :cautious:..

Shit stirring aside, though. Sounds like it was a bloody horror show all round (in the second half). Maybe being at work on Saturday's is not such a bad thing anymore.

Sorry those of you fortunate (or not fortunate) enough to watch it didn't get the result and performance we all wanted.

The saddest part of all? Are any of you/us actually surprised we didn't win? Sorry to say I'm not at all surprised. Been saying it since Wednesday & I truly wish I was wrong.

As for the 3 week break, it will not help us & we'll probably be equally as bad when we recommence PL footy.

New home, same old Spurs

Would like to thank Poch and the lads for completely killing the buzz I had about us finally getting into the new stadium with such a piss poor 2nd half performance.

Imagine if we were actually competing for something to get upset over.

Top 4, you're having a laugh.

Show me this team, then, that never suffers upsets unless the player's visibly don't turn up. You'd have to go to a seriously uncompetitive league, even less so than Scotland. And that for me is boring. A whole season where you know you're going to win nearly every game, win the league by 30 points, and the performances don't even matter? Fuck that.
Take off the rose colored glasses dude. This was a shit performance (one of a few this season) and everyone knows it. Nobody enjoys slagging the team off, but sometimes they deserve it from the chairman on down to the guys on the pitch. Today was a shit show pure and simple.

Absolutely right about Dembele. More and more often we lose control of midfield and the game. And no one of his composure, strength and ability, to grasp it back.

Shane Feckin Long ... On the pitch for a cameo 20 minutes terrorised a stupefied Tottenham defence before leaving the pitch injured to let his teammates run amok and steal a victory.

I despair. The rest of my weekend is fucked. The next three weeks is gonna be tumbleweed central.

3 weeks free from being wound up by football.
I used to get the right arse when we lost, kicking things in the house. Seen so much of this shit for so long and now it bothers me less and less to the point if we're playing midweek I often miss the games as I don't realise we're playing. To be honest it's a nicer place to be.
