Now that I’ve half calmed down, I actually remember us playing some good stuff yesterday. For the first 60 minutes our attacking play was as smooth as I can remember in the league this year. Dele ran out of steam, but he made a massive difference to our creative output in the first half.

If Rose actually defends that cross at the far post, we don’t get caught up the pitch for the break that led to the free kick and probably go on to win the game.

We were fantastic 1st half except not clinical enough, we were equally awful 2nd half, reminded me of the wolves game were we just rolled over

If we don't make CL this year you might find the changes more radical than you would like.
That stadium needs paying for and without CL revenue, how's that going to happen?
There's something (perhaps unintentionally) implied in your post which represents a frequent occurrence on SC imo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the accounts always show that the only money ENIC "take out" of the club is the odd dividend and the salary paid to Levy. Otherwise, club money is club money. Ergo, while all and sundry have been spunking the last few years' TV money on shiny new players (some great, most not) and lining agents' pockets, we've been using that unexpected increase in income to help finance the stadium build. Given where we've finished in the league recently, that's not small amounts of money either.

We won't really know before it all comes out in the wash, but I think we've managed to finance a significant chunk of the project up front. Coupled with the fact that we'd only been in the CL once when the NDP was originally announced, I really don't think the debt is going to be as much of a negative factor as some say.

Now, I also don't expect ENIC to change their MO and believe they will stick to their minimal/no net spend on transfers model until they sell up, but I do expect the wage budget to increase significantly (this already started last summer) and, ultimately, salary is the thing that most players find most attractive.

If the club starts making massive profits and that money, rather than being recycled into the club, is removed into ENIC's pockets, I will be a) pissed and b) rather surprised. They stand to make their money when they sell and, wherever the team is in the league at that time, they will have left us in a far better state than when they arrived.

We played some great football in the first half and with better finishing the game was over. Second half Southampton started pressing and we were lost, the playing out from the back was an absolute mess. Dier was a spare man in the 1st half and virtually missing in the second. Actually thought Moura was putting in a good shift and thought it was a mistake subbing him and not Dele who had run out of gas. Poor games from Davinson and KWP both making far too many errors and Danny Rose what were you thinking. Poch never countered Southampton changing up after half time, having said that Kane needed to be far more clinical and if he was sharper we’d have been out of sight.
