We were shitter then. Offering less wages, less prestige, and no consistent CL football. Being a backup to Eriksen will be his best chance at getting a PL winners medal in his career. It's apples and oranges.

We weren't that much shitter and besides he struggled to get regular football then so I doubt his chances would have improved - especially with players like Alli, Son, Lamela all likely ahead of him in the pecking order.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat. Would be a great option against the bus parkers and a viable option to Eriksen. If he was happy to be a bit part player I'd welcome him back because he can conjure stuff out of nothing. Would be great to have for Cup games and such like. Has a great attitude as well and wouldn't bring any ego baggage with him.

I like Siggy. I liked Siggy when we had him.

He has goals in him, can be a clever passer and works hard when he is on the pitch.

My concern would be that Siggy has always done well when he was sitting behind the striker. We tried him on the wings and he wasn't effective, he isn't suited to playing there. Alli, Eriksen, and Son (as well as Lamela when healthy) have all shown to have a bit more flexibility in how Poch can use them and allows them to swap and move with ease when out on the pitch. Siggy isn't a natural fit to that style.

Still like him but would prefer either someone who was a bit more versatile or someone who gives us something we lack (pace and trickery on a wing for example) as a first choice.

No real spot for Siggy....struggled to establish himself last time....he lacks pace despite having lovely vision and touch. Would he get time ahead of Dele? Poch's side are much too dynamic for a Siggy...in the same way that a Poyet of a Huddlestone would no longer cut it

Have you watched Swansea at all this season? He is the only one that runs and he puts a lot of effort in closing players down from attacking positions.

I watched Siggy at Spurs.

So how often do you watch Swansea?

tbf i can remember i read somewhere that sig has covered a very long distance, among the highest in the league, and he has similar amount of goals and assists as eriksen, although we don't know whether he can continue this performance as a backup player

Siggy is the best dead ball specialist in the PL. He'd be worth the money for his free kicks and corners if nothing else! The only player close to him is Willian. Eriksen hasn't scored from a free kick in ages and his corners are crap, rarely getting past the first defender.

Sounds good to me. Perfect squad player then.

Why not try and improve the starting line up or bring in someone that can offer something different. No point bringing him back to be a squad player again and he won't come back if that's the case.

A lot. My dad is a Swansea fan so I treat them as my second team.

Tbh I don't watch a lot of Swansea unless befiely on motd or when Spurs play them.... I personally feel Siggy would at best be a rotation (squad) player. I think we can do better for the money it'll take to get him.

Its called balance. If you bring in quality who's gonna sit out from our current team? Eriksen? Dele? With Siggy, if we can bring him in, we can offer him something the other mid table teams can't, a chance to challenge for the league and CL football. He'll be 28 soon and we are probably his best chance to win something and play under one of the best coaches in the world.
