I think Siggy is a tidy little footballer, and I like him a great deal. But I would rather we continued our progression of our young players, like we have been doing with Winks, Kane, Alli, etc.

Some lovely goals there - no doubting his quality on the ball, only whether he's the right addition/complement to the squad for what would be a not insignificant cost

Siggurdson is a good player but we have better ones. Poch was just being polite. Managers avoid saying things like "I bombed him out because he wasn't up to it" because it would be rude to say that and they don't want to motivate players they are facing.

Again, proven depth. He can play in the same team as Eriksen if need be. Eriksen can't play every game and worst case what happens when Eriksen gets injured? Who can we realistically bring in to carry the load? I hope Lamela heals up but at this time we're not even sure how long he'll be out. With Siggy, we would have a versatile game winner.

Plus your forgetting one of the best parts about our current team, its much easier to convince players to join up and fight for a spot when we're challenging for trophies and playing in the CL.

So you want to block a promising youth player in Edwards route to team with an average player like Siggy?

Plus if we continue with 3-4-2-1 we have Son as an option to come in for Eriksen or Dele if either unvailable.

Lovely footballer. But does he possess the appetite for work rate Poch expects and demands?

Unless that changes just dont think he fits our collective style.

Like Sigs always happy to see him doing well. But not what we need, which is pace on the counter and front men who move the ball quickly. Zaha if doable, if not Gray from Leicester, maguire, and King would be a good summer. Sell the french wingers and Janssen, Wimmer too if he's sulking

if the price is right and he's willing to come off the bench, why not? we are short of attacking players that can make an impact when needed.

Next season we need a full squad to compete for the title. We have a fantastic 12 or 13 atm but we need quality that can come off the bench and turn a few would be draws into wins. Not sure how many times this happened this season in such fixtures, not too many cases to be fair but still. Obviously if we can sign a starting 11 player awesome but we do need a few Impact game changers to come on.
Then the question is, is Siggy such a player that could potentially come on and change a game (start with an injury)? I don't know if this is a yes or a no but in my opinion this is what we should be identifying. Time to cream off the best players from the non top 6/7 teams. Zaha, King, Gibson (depth) whoever it may be. Strength needed.

Don't know if it's been said already, but Iceland was kind of Spurs under Lagerback. Everybody knew what to do in any situation and they just ran more than the opponents.

So Siggy is used to that style.

Personally I've always had that extra love for him (like soldado, Jansen, lamela) but I do feel he would have to settle being a bench-warmer with a big impact. If he's okay with that - take him back, but I would guess he is more likely to be a star at a mid-plus team...

Does this make us a big club like Chelsea and Man U if we buy back players we've sold for twice as much lol.

That's why he left in the first place

We were shitter then. Offering less wages, less prestige, and no consistent CL football. Being a backup to Eriksen will be his best chance at getting a PL winners medal in his career. It's apples and oranges.

FOR THE LAST TIME

Poch was asked by a reporter the following question.

" What do you make of how Gylfi Sigurdsson is playing for Swansea and is HE A PLAYER THAT WOULD FIT IN YOUR TOTTENHAM TEAM? "

@13;20 onwards

Poch says yes, and is effusive in his praise about Siggy even says "perfect player for us"

Guys i literally made this thread based on Poch talking about Siggy, we really can't use that as an excuse as the Poch himself as stated that he would fit into his team.

@Tucker @Soljah @DJS @Turlough McHugh @danielneeds @punkisback

Poch was just being nice, he's hardly gonna say he's a fat **** who is too slow for his system and far better off at Swansea where he fits in is he... :p:p ... :troll:
