All this begs the question
Would he even consider returning.
Big fish in a small pool now
Fish soup option here.

Always liked the boy.
Same age as Sissoko and cheaper
Just saying.

When we bought him I thought it was a great move but it never worked out. Maybe he is happier in the less high profile environment that he is in; maybe he is happier playing week in and week out. Very good dead ball player though but this is not an American sport where you can just bring players on and off at a whim and I doubt whether Siggy can be effective and run around the way Poch likes. Whatever I think he is not likely to come to us, especially with the rise of Winks, and would struggle for game time.

I always liked Siggy and I wish him well in the rest of his career but he isn't right for our current system. I like lobster and I like chocolate but I don't want them in the same dish.

My reading of this comment is not 'you never know what will happen in the future' is not a hint at a future deal but more a 'you never know how a player will go on to develop in future'.

Sig is a good player but I get the impression he's better as a main man than a bit part player, and is fairly immobile. Not right for us.

No thanks, nowhere near dynamic enough for a Pochettino team. It's like he's moving through humus and he's too weak - I'm sure I saw him lose a 50-50 with the corner flag in one game

He scored some cracking goals, mind

Winks and Siggy play in completely different positions so not sure why the comparison?

BRING SIGGY BACK!!!!

PRO
Set piece ability
Shooting from Long distance
Creativity
Knows the team and players
No attitude issues
Versatile

CON
Lack of speed/immobile
Age (will be 28 in September)
Weak in the tackle

To be fair to Siggy, a lot of the cons are taken from his time with us before Poch. Now we've all seen how players improve when the buy into Poch's philosophy and training regime, why can't Siggy?

Plenty of questions about whether he would be okay sitting on the bench. I'd argue he'd prefer playing Champions league fighting for trophies than dealing with a relegation battle. Plus given the nature of the game with suspensions, injuries and out of form players he'll get plenty of game time with us.

We know Poch values hard work and ability. Siggy would know that he's coming back to a well established team and and as a result work hard to make sure he forces Poch to choose him. He left on good terms, people speak highly of him at Spurs and he's good friends with some of the Spurs boys to this day. His set piece prowess and long distance shooting would be very valuable to us and help us win games. Plus with Alli out for our first 3 games in the CL we will definitely need another creative spark if we continue with the 3421.

If he hadn't already agreed his transfer before Poch got to him, I'm confident that he would still be making a decent contribution as part of our squad now. I'd be happy to take him back, but the problem is he'd be directly competing for Eriksen's spot and isn't ever going to take it, so would have to be happy with being a squad player. He is in his prime, so to go from being a star player to a situation where you aren't guaranteed to start regularly probably isn't going to be his best option. If Swansea go down, 2/3 of the teams in the league would happily snap him up, or he could get a decent move abroad.

Seems to create chances or score goals in every game he features, which is quite remarkable considering he plays for a team who could yet go down.

If he'd be happy play from the bench (let's be honest he'd probably still get 20-25 starts) I'd be happy to have him back.
