A player that won't play we've more than adequate cover for has left.

A dark day.

Wise up. He was pony.

I'm not saying I'm gutted he's gone at all, I rated him and thought he had a very good first season - for several reasons he didn't kick on, mainly because he was only playing the odd game here and there, Kaboul got better and better etc. I was more commenting on your pretty shit and petty comments.

I don't rate Dawson as highly as you or many others - when he goes I'll wish him well and thank him for putting his arse on the line for us a thousand times.

he's a rough diamond, was found in a dinosaur turd, that had been hit by an asteroid. yh he's a bit confused, but i'm sure hughton will polish him up a bit..

He didn't kick on because he's not good enough.

Looks like AVB agrees with HR on this one, as for all the emo crap, yeah thanks Seb. Thanks for getting paid a lot to play at a great football club and not doing it very well for most of the time.

Finally - We were looking rid of him for along time.
Good riddance - I don't rate him.
Bambi on ice - Fell over a lot, deceptively crap body strength.

He's not very good and he was rarely very good for us. It's a big positive he's left at this point if we're going to see more additions...and Daws is twice the player IMO.

It's not really emo crap, just thought it was a little OTT for a player who hasn't exactly caused us any trouble and who contributed to our best season in donkeys, not least for kickstarting our CL campaign with the goal against YBs the next season. I'm pretty sure If I said the same about Daws you'd have jumped over me like a fucking huge rash.

And I agree too with HR and AVB, sensible to let him go, Kaboul has announced himself, we've brought in Verts and have Caulker coming through along with Gallas as an old head in the side. Looks like Daws is off too, which I think is the right move for us and him personally.

I rated him, happy to admit that I thought he was the real deal and got that one wrong, but I still think he's a good defender and should forge a good Prem career for himself.

Agree - I think some are being a bit harsh on him.

Also think people are being a little optomistic over the fee - it will probably come out in our accounts at some point but I'd be surprised if Norwich would be inclined (or perhaps able) to pay £5m for a defender who has played only a handful of games in the last 2 years (I know QPR were reported as willing to pay £8m for him at one point).

Disappointed by some of the comments on here. Good luck Seb. He was good but always had to play second fiddle to King and then fill in when the club legend wasn't fit. He really lost out because of that and never had a chance of making the position his own however good he was. As it turned out, being chopped and changed and second choice to King all the time unsurprisingly didn't help him become a good player. When it comes to the football side of things, I feel sorry for him. He had a great season when we qualified, I thank him for that. And if Norwich can get him back to that they've probably got a bargain.

Corluka, Kranjcar, Bassong, Pav, Saha, Pienaar, King, Khumalo, Nelsen, probably Modric

that's a lot of players sold/released

so where's all that money gone, where's all the new signings
Well there's one signed already. What was that? Three, four, five hours later?

Oh ye of little faith.

Not good enough for me. He had one good season yes (still behind Daws Kab etc) but the 2 seasons after he looked rubbish.

It was strange he had the pace, the power and the tackle, he just looked so nervy at the back and that is not an attribute you want from a CB!!!! He didn't look comfortable and I am glad we got such a healthy fee for him. At Wolves he was less than impressive.

I'll retract my cynicism when we actually make those potential big signings rather than Ade was well known of being when rather than if

LLoris, Lorente, Leandro, M'Villa, Moutinho, Hulk, Pjanic, Sahin etc etc

Ive seen too many last minute Sahas, Fraizer Campbells, and Falcos and not enough Van Der Vaarts for me not to be cynical about our transfer business.

for now at least we have what we needed most, a target man. Just keep him in bubblewrap

But then you are picking and choosing...and missing the vital question: did it build a squad capable of finishing 4th or one that struggled to finish 10th?

I think we lost money on all those players apart from Pienaar (and Modric who hasn't left yet). So if you think about it that way it's remarkable we have any money to spend on new players at all.

Let the businessmen do the business and us supporters do the supporting.

I dont think we have really, and I'm fine with that considering the training complex and hopefully new stadium.

Sell before you buy, but i mentioned last month that I can foresee mordic finally leaving on the Friday afternoon on August the 31st and us scrambling around all over the place trying to do last minute charlie Adam top deals.

Though i dont particular think we need a modric replacement, just another striker and some kind of cover for the wide forwards

Good luck To him! Really good first season but as someone else said from that Young Boys game onwards his career with us went backwards.

I've no ill feeling towards him and am glad to see him finally leave because he was more often poor than not.

Forgive me for not being overly sentimental about Bassong leaving, for me he doesn't deserve it. Players like him, Bentley and a couple of others have contributed tiny bits to our massive progress and we've now outgrown them.

If they're not playing, they're taking up a squad place and holding us back.

Boo hoo etc., hope there's more to follow.
