If he had stayed injury free I don't think he would still be a spurs player. Would've joined the group of big money sales we have made in the past few years.
Don't think he was dynamic enough to be a midfield for an elite club but was perfect for what we needed.

A bit of steel to our inherently fragile mentality.

Him and Kaboul were top players before their injuries and donkeys in comparison afterwards

Kaboul was always poor IMO. Even his so called half a good season he had with us partnering Gallas he made a lot of individual mistakes. They just went unpunished and the team was so good that the defence was put under less pressure to make mistakes.

Sandro is a very good player. I don't believe for a moment he was sold due to injuries either. Poch is a serious individual and it is well known that the likes of Holtby and Sandro were dressing room clowns who almost certainly didn't take things as seriously as Poch would have wanted them too. That is why both were moved on.

I have to disagree with the first part, when Kaboul peaked prior to the injury he was like a Kompany or Vidic, absolutely dominant. Such brutish power and at that time he still had the game sense to position himself correctly. I remember he would regularly dispossess players and then drive all the way up to the other touchline.

There were a couple of games during AVB's full season in which both Sandro and Dembele were fully fit, and I remember thinking: Holy shit, we finally have found the Holly Grail.

Would definitely make my list of favourite Spurs players of the Premier League era. Such a shame about his injuries.

Returns to the UK tomorrow after getting his Visa issues sorted.

Cheeky bid? not the same player or not still better than Dier in CM and if nothing else materialises between now and Tuesday on the DM front I'm sure he'd be welcomed back.

I would love him back at the Lane. If we could get him back to full form and injury free he'd be fantastic for us imo.

I think people forget just how good he was when he was on form.

Yay for Sandro!
And no to the bid. He's very injury prone and I don't think would add much more to the side. Bring him back when he retires as the Brasilian Singer-Motivator however, all for that.

He had strung together his most games in a long time for QPR (think even Wenger said they couldn't play against him, and it was only when he went off; due to lack of fitness not injury. that Arse scored) right before he was kicked out of the country, so maybe he's putting his injury problems behind him...

And who else have we got to be sick on the pitch? our pitch has suffered in recent seasons through lack of vomit (y)

Hope he can have a beastly run of games for whoever he ends up with as if he can get back to even 70% of what he was someone's gonna have a player on their hands.

Loved this guy. That knee injury was such a sickener. We had some terrible luck with midfielders getting crocked.

Probably don’t want to get ourselves into a discussion about his Nickname when he was at Spurs….

Just back from an evening with Sandro put on by TFC. Top guy - made time for everyone in the venue and is fully COYS.

Was coming on here to ask how it went and saw you post this.
He would be an incredible listen I'm guessing. What was the dos Santos story?

Yeah he was an entertaining raconteur. Kept referring to Harry as Harry Knapp. We were sworn to secrecy on the Dos Santos story - involves jealousy, a pool party and galavanting on a roof. Didn't realize they were so close.

The lads on TFC briefly mentioned it on today's pod and said people were asked to put phones down and don't record that part of it alright..also mentioned crouchy being naked as well. Sounds like a cracker of a Monday night

Oh yeah - well that was described exactly as you think it might have been.
