Well fair enough. You're right they haven't said anything officially.

I just can't believe that Everton could use and unsubstantiated injury as a reason to accept a lower price. If he isn't really injured it will be clear as soon as we sign him ( or at least a few weeks after).

Are people really that gullible that they wouldn't be able to see through it afterwards.
When the deal's done and initial fallout all over the player may recover a little bit quicker than expected but Everton never said it was serious. They said they needed to investigate the initial injury further.

Draxler has just been told hes surplus to requirements at PSG. A reasonable alternative? Only seen him play on a few occasions but he absolutely ripped Barca a new arsehole last season.

Wouldn't put it past levy to leave it until January and look for an even smaller fee for barkley, which if he is out until then would make sense.

He would cost a lot more than Barkley

I don't think many people think it's a complete put on. I think the only thing we are uncertain of as now is the extent of the injury tbh. I just think if it was as serious as is being reported by the Mail. The heavy weight media outlets would have been reporting it by now, not to mention the EFC official site.

I beg your pardon mates. just a bit dizzy on the "widely reported" starting to be widely reported on this site and wished ross wouldn't be further wildly reported as a handicapped player ffs. i truly hope we make this signing before the window shuts, while i am keeping my patience until the 1st sept.

Would he though? PSG bought him for about £37m wasn't it? A lot of money in fairness and I'm sure they would want to recoup much of that back.

But when siggurdsson is going for £45m, and they have sold Matuidi for £18m, happy to let Aurier go for £20m, it doesn't sound like they are charging a premium.

We are supposedly being quoted £30m for barkley and would that be a better deal than Draxler? Wages may be an issue of course.

Could we actually be negotiating Draxler under the guise of Aurier talks? I'm not suggesting we are but it would allow us to steal a march on potential gazumpers. And these Aurier 'negotiations' have been very public considering the way we normally do our business and considering the PR issues.

These are the kind of conspiracy theories I'd give my house away for

It would make sense though, wouldn't it? I assume his price would be around 30M and it would solve our playmaking forward with pace search. Hell, give'em 50 and take Aurier and we would be sorted.

That did cross my mind too, but then I put it down to wishful thinking.
