didn't get to see any of the match but i thought danny looked pretty sharp before this weekend.

plus 3 matches in and we've got 2 wins and one loss and only one goal against...

if we go 2-0-1 the next three... ain't no reason to bitch...

He did okay and he is very young and new to the role, but for where we want to be, he's just not at the level yet. It's a simple as that... He's not useless, he's got the potential to be a good little attacking full back, but if we end up going into the season with him as first choice teams rightly so will see him as the weak link and give him hell.

On a serious note he is still fairly new to the left back role and has plenty to learn. I thought he did ok today but really struggled when Walcott came inside. To be fair though, many fullbacks struggle against Walcott. I think he needs to just learn the positional aspects of a left back and how to push a winger wide.

Perhaps we should just sign a leftback though... rather than try to convert an average left winger into one?

We dont have the time to mess around with this kind of development.

That performance was in no way as bad as some of the times Ekotto has gone up against Walcott.

This. Walcott had to go central to get in behind. I thought Rose did well. Used his pace to great effect versus Theo. Dawson was the one who didn't step up and ultimately cost us the game. If anything, Walker was worse IMO.

I think we should sign an already extablighed left back too but Rose should certainly not be written off so early in his career. We need 2 quality players in each position and Rose is a very good one with lots of potential. I'm not sure who we can realistically get now though before the window closes.

We had a perfectly good one in BAE.. but something's gone on between him and AVB and he's been banished.

STFU already, moaning, whining, singling out players and asking for heads to roll when he actually had a decent game. Sometimes posts here just makes me want to...

rose will be perfect as FC understudy. rose is top 8 - 10 team starter, a great top 4 rotation LB. he will be good against decent europeans and epl opponents but no match for top 4 club wingers or any european power house. thats where FC comes in to start and rose will definitely improve under him

I'm personally very impressed with young Danny. Today he played very well and although he switched off allowing Walcott the chance of getting in behind him from which they scored I though overall his game has improved considerably

Last week against Swansea, same thing, Flores only kept out by Lloris. You cannot have your left-back giving up one of those a game if you want to win silverware/be CL...

That wasn't his fault, though, he actually pushed up and played the offside trap well but for some reason Dawson ran backwards and played Walcott onside.

His position was horrific! Too far inside with no need as there was no inside coverage necessary...

Not good enough. By a bloody long way.

Never has been.

Never will be.

Piss poor.

 What, for trying to do Chadli's job as well?!!!!
If you wanna have a pop at someone it should be Chadli, he showed no desire or fight.

I'll have to watch it again, I'm still fairly certain Dawson shouldn't have ran backwards when all other defenders had pushed up.
