He did far better today than I thought he would.

But how low were your expectations to start with :)

He's like the kid who get the Most Improved Trophy in kids football... it doesnt mean they are good all of a sudden. Just that they are not as crap as they were last season.

I'm amazed people actually need persuading and cannot see it with their own eyes.

It seems our limited success to date has still pulled in plenty of fans who know nothing about the game.
Im amazed people think there is such thing as top 4 standard players.

Look at the other fullbacks and compare to Walker and they arent better, some worse: Gibbs, Jenkinson, Rafael, Buttner, Bertrand, Jones(at the beginning of last season he was a liability for United and hence not seen till the end of the season), Dave(that chelsea guy), Wisdom, Enrique, Kolorov, Richards and etc.

I thought he played well, left exposed by chadli a couple of times. He had no where to most of the time.

I'm not criticising walker... I bloody love him. Xxx

This is nor knee jerk.

I've been saying this ever for weeks. I was willing to give him a chance.

He's proved me right... time and time again.

When has he proven you right?, in the 10 starts he has had for us, when he has done little wrong or the year he was player of the season at sunderland

Player of the year at a team that nearly got relegated. Hardly a glowing reference.

what did rose actually do wrong?

dawson was caught out for the goal and made several other mistakes. vertonghen wasn't exactly great for the goal either. dembele did nothing. paulinho did nothing. chadli did nothing. soldado did nothing. what has rose done today to deserve this thread? nothing. it's a completely see-through prejudiced thread.

Cant argue with this at all. As if people are afraid to call out bad performances from the noobs, probably because we have spent the last week or so bigging them up so much.

How can he do any better? He went there was their best player, came back to us a better player.
Good loan? or a easy scapgoat because he is not a fancy new signing?

I thought he was too tight to our centre halves and narrowed us for the goal - Walcott ghosted wide from behind him and he was oblivious to it, he and Dawson were equally to blame for their winning goal in my opinion

That being said over all he didn't have too bad a game but if we want to be challenging at the top of the table we probably need better than him

On a serious note he is still fairly new to the left back role and has plenty to learn. I thought he did ok today but really struggled when Walcott came inside. To be fair though, many fullbacks struggle against Walcott. I think he needs to just learn the positional aspects of a left back and how to push a winger wide.

Good loan... should have put him in the shop window so that some mid table team would take him off our hand, or at worst... provided us with some squad depth.

Exactly this. Whether he can do so will decide whether or not he succeeds. He's improved rapidly at the position compared to when H first plonked him there in '11 though.
