i think his whole demeaner has changed & the pressure thats been on him this season regarding outside events has taken its toll.. only a few weeks ago after his court case his show of emotion at the newcastle game was totally at odds with the same man yesterday & i do think those events have indirectly had a massive effect on our season especially since cappello walked!.
personally i think he's mentally shot!!

The telling thing for me yesterday was when a commentator starts to wonder why Bale keeps drifting inside and how HR looks like he is indecisive especially with the subs.....his actual words were "they are going to have to do it on their own!" when referencing the players on the pitch and thevlack of subs/tactical change.
Us fans do tend to be a go with the wind......not just us this time.

Yeah, well, a commentator also stated yesterday that Phil Jones could be Manure's Yaya Toure...

You disagreeing with him and think that we did ok yesterday then? ;)

Well, Villa were poor but still 60% possession, 22 goal attempts with 10 men away is hardly shocking now, is it? As per my previous point as well risking it even more might not have been worth it with the 10 men as that 1 point sets us up for 4th possibly even with a draw and still favs for 3rd IMO.

Possibly.

My point was more that I don't think there was anyone particularly to blame.

It just felt to me as though this thread was started out of frustration at the weekends results.
!

Then there is no one for a lacklustre first half? No one to blame for only four shots on target? Arsenal:Excuse Everton:Excuse Sunderland:Excuse QPR:Excuse Norwich: Excuse

At what point is some blame going to be attached for results?

At the end of the day though third is still on and we have a good shout at fourth. Gonna be so nervous!
5th and 6th is still on as well.

So you want to blame someone.

If you must.

Personally i think you need to cheer up and be more optimistic.

Unfortunately supporters optimism isn't enough to get results, you can have all the optimism in the world it doesn't change the fact if we don't win next week and results go against us we could be 5th or 6th.

Actually no a point is no better than a loss, we would still need to beat Fulham and have a far better goal difference than than Newcastle"...so the point only saves us if we draw and Newcastle draw.

So on that basis we should of thrown the sink at Villa not settled for a point.

(BTW .....up until a few weeks ago I was HR's biggest fan, still like the way he gets on with the players......tactically though am starting to wonder)

25 pts from our last 18 games. Questions need asking. That ridiculous run of 11 or 12 games may save our skin yet. A season of 2 halves. Feast or famine. Not a sign of a team/squad with the right mentality or foundation.

If we do want to maintain a challenge over the next couple of yrs, it simply needs stopping. Excuses are empty. They're all paid huge gobs of money to get results. There is enough talent in this squad to not shit the bed every single time the very thing they are meant to be playing the game for - CL participation, a tiny taster of possible success - is presented to them.

We employ joe jordan to shout from the touch line, if Harry did it too he would put his mate out of a job.

If we win our last game, it will be 28 pts in the second half of the season. That would be 56 point pace, which isn't great but would still be good enough for 6th place in the league (considering that Everton would be 7th with 56 but lower than us on goal difference). That means at our worst, we are still the 6th best in the league?

The second point is very valid and I completely agree.

Apart from Norwich at home, we've not played badly...

Do you not think that the standard in this year's league is-and let's be brutally honest here-shit?

You've got to be kidding me??? We let in 5 goals against Arsenal in the second half after being two up, if that can't be described as playing badly I don't know what can.
Of course I'm kidding you. That's been Redknapp's mantra for the last couple of weeks.

In general I'd say it was pretty poor yes. I think that is indicated by the fact that the 3 teams who came up are going to all stay up (not sure when that last happened) although Swansea and Norwich have been very deserving and played decently. We have faced a lot of park the bus football all year and if we had figured out how to beat that then we would have taken a lot more points against very poor teams.
