Yes attracted to it before the mighty four arrived by the film 'In Bruges' which uses the locations well.
Thanks.

When we played Watford away Alan Shearer said:
“Because of the three at the back, it enabled Trippier to virtually play as a right winger and he did it unbelievably well,” he said. “He gave them width in the first half”
Last night he repeated that almost word for word and included Davies as well. Yesterday we might well have seen a glimpse of the future, both could easily become first choices before much longer.
Dembele- 87 pass %, 4 dribbles, 2 tackles.
Lamela- 77 pass %, 3 dribbles, 0 tackles.

Possibly but that would be very harsh on the other two. I thought walker was almost our best player against Norwich. Have we ever had 4 fullbacks as good as now? Don't think so.When we played Watford away Alan Shearer said:

Oh I agree, I just think, (as you say) its possible. Time will tell.Possibly but that would be very harsh on the other two. I thought walker was almost our best player against Norwich. Have we ever had 4 fullbacks as good as now? Don't think so.
I seldom disagree with anything you post but I really did think that Gomes rode his luck yesterday. For me, he frequently palmed and punched when he might have caught, and the ricochets that arose were pretty random - he was just fortunate in the way they dropped. And he still had that look and of a frightened rabbit. At least, that's how I saw itWatford came to defend and did it really well, backed by a new kind of Gomes. I had already noted the total absence of Watford fans moaning this season about his poor concentration, flapping at crosses and fumbling of easy shots. Nor had I seen any mocking comments in the press. Gomes without the daft mistakes is one hell of a goalkeeper. And he seems at last to have erased those wayward moments from his repertoire. But he wasn't quite good enough to prevent us from winning the match, even with assistance from the referee.
So many times we have heard the WHL crowd becoming ratty and unsupportive when we have dominated the first 45-60 minutes of a game without reward. That didn't remotely happen yesterday and it had to be because of the sheer quality of the play. In the first half, we appeared shot-shy, but that wasn't really because we weren't shooting, it was because Watford's defenders closed down relentlessly and blocked or deflected a large proportion of our shots. But we were even more relentless, swarming all over them in midfield from about minute 3 until very late in the game. We were first to nearly every ball and we out-pressed opponents who were attempting the same kind of high-pressing midfield game that we use.
The result was a game that was high on intensity, but not always high on continuity. When we did manage to string a move together it was, perforce, a beautiful network of one-touch passes and layoffs, because nothing else would penetrate Watford's determination. It was a great spectacle, nerve-racking yet rewarding, frustrating and ultimately successful.
Lloris - 6.5 So little to do. DId it.
Trippier - 8.5 If we have a walking tribute to Pochettino's abilities to improve a player, Kieran is that man. When he arrived, he looked seriously out of his depth: positionally unreliable, slow and prone to lunging. Fast forward a few months and he is adopting positions that adjust for his lack of pace, getting involved in everything and raining in terrifying and unplayable crosses. I can't choose a MotM today between 4 players, but he's one of the candidates.
Alderweireld - 7 The usual commanding and controlling performance. I see some comemnts that he had little to do, but the reason that Ighalo (and Deeney) did so little was because Alderweireld, Wimmer and Dier marshalled them so well.
Wimmer - 7 Similar to Toby. Calm, controlling and reliable.
Davies - 8 Another MotM candidate, just inspiring in the first half, where he put himself through on goal three times by way of strength and wit. Won the ball and passed well throughout the match. Less influential after half time.
Dier - 6.5 We can't do this without Eric. The whole approach only works because he's posted in front of the defence, using his strength, judgment and mobility to keep the pressure off us and on the opposition.
Dembele - 8.5 A third MotM, not only dominating midfield with power and skill, but also acting as the key man in the move that led to the goal.
Lamela - 6.5 There was little flashy from Erik yesterday, but a hell of a lot of closing down, pressing, tackling and running. Team player, not luxury star.
Eriksen - 8 The 4th MotM. Central to absolutely everything, passing with vision, running a bloody marathon, closing down like a mad person and making things happen wherever he popped up, which was everywhere. Had we shot more accurately or played against a goalkeeper less in form, Eriksen could have collected a handful of assists.
Chadli - 6 Good without making a big impression. Played his part.
Kane - 6.5 The ball wouldn't run for him in front of goal (and Watford's defence made his life very difficult), but Kane was involved in most of our best moves and held the ball up all over the pitch.
Alli - 7.5 The young man has a gift for making the difference.
Son - 6 A mixture of sparkling runs and clumsy first touches. As others have observed, Son seems to be more effective when he starts than as an impact substitute.
Carroll - NET
The team - 10 It's a team. It plays as a team. It uses teamwork to dominate the opposition.

I'll just leave this here...
Me to Gooner at work: I caught the second half of the Arsenal game and I haven't see such a poor match. Arsenal could barely string two passes together.
Gooner:: What about your lot. Lucky with a 1:0 struggling against Watford.
Me: *Face palm*

Good overview. I'm glad Alli is finally getting your recognition.
Disagree about playing Mason though. Dier allows Dembele to get further up the pitch where he is an integral part of our pressing . Take him out and Dembele will be the one playing in front of our back 4 which would be a waste. And how can Dembele be left out ? We look much weaker without him. Mason however adds another very good option for squad rotation in the cups.
Don't really get the Alli comment. I have continually acknowledged Alli's good attributes, just unlike you, and some others, haven't closed my eyes to his weaknesses as well.
I still think he's a player ( like others I have used as high profile examples frequently like Yaya, Pogba etc)) who despite clearly being very talented isn't the easiest to fit into a 4231 system.
It's worth noting that we played well before he came on and created chances and with better finishing from Davies or Kane would have already been leading.
I don't think this team succeeds or fails because of any one player, even Kane. I think this team will graft out performances and hopefully results no matter who plays, what matters most is that we stick to the ethos and not the individual.
I think if you read back through your ratings posts your comments about Alli until the last 2 games have been largely negative advocating his omission.
Of course , he is only 19 and obviously still has a lot to learn. But his contribution to the team has been phenomenal. If he is struggling to fit into our system then I wonder how great he would be if we actually played a system that suits him ?
Is your bird Clemence Posey, coz I'd f**k ur bird!!My partner worked on that film . And that was what first interested us in visiting.

If it's obvious to a good few of us on here it will not have escaped poch who relies on FBs heavily for this system to work.
No way he won't address it imo.
He's used to having clyne work the right flank like a cyclone and an on fire Luke Shaw (pre-united neutering) tearing it up up and down the left flank.
That's the sort of level he's after.
I urge anyone who doesn't know what I'm getting at to go and watch some of s'ton's games from lasts season and then compare to the action we've seen on our flanks from our FBs, overall.
Not comparable in the least.
