Some horrible ratings for a close game we lost by an unfortunate O.G. tbh.

Poor mistake again from Hugo, but the metaphorical crosses and nails are coming out yet again. This was Liverpool at Anfield (who are the only team not to lose at home in the league this season).

Hi Kieran. Thanks for the 'dislike' on my ratings. If Aurier or KWP had given Robertson as much room as Trippier did you'd have crucified them

I disliked your ratings because there are at least 5 players rated under a 6 in a close game at what amounts to arguably the hardest away game of the season for most sides...although IMO the marks for Trippier and Eriksen were especially pathetic too tbh.

So you don’t give it to the guy who had the ball parried against him and couldn’t do a thing about it (and was imperious throughout) but you’re willing to give it to the guy who missed a clear opportunity to put us into the lead by balloning it 5 metres above the crossbar?

Your logic is weird
Sissoko was the defensive midfielder - he had no right to be bursting through like a striker. It would be nice if he was a finisher but that isn't why he is in the team and I don't think he should be marked down for that miss. He had a great game.

Alderweireld has worked with Lloris every day for 4 years now. There should be a great understanding between them given their reputations. But Toby is kicking the ball out rather than pass back to Lloris.
It is undermining him - effectively saying I don't trust you to do the simplest of things.
Some might say he has got that one right, for sure, but if there is no understanding between players, then own goals and calamity is the result. Toby has to reflect on his role in that own goal. Was there nothing he could have done differently or anticipated?

In any case goals make MotM - if the ball had been palmed onto Kane for a last minute winner for us, his rating would be through the roof and we'd talk of his predatory instincts.
Likewise if you stick one in your own net, then it counts against you imo.

My job is to account manage but if someone asks me to hold a baby and I dropped it on the floor, clearly I’ve had a mare more than janine in the corner who paid someone the wrong amount because she was given the incorrect sales figures.

Should I have been holding that baby? Probably not, but I was, and as a competent human being (professional footballer paid millions a year) I should have done better

By the way I’m not scapegoating Sissoko he’s been excellent this year and had a decent game, just making a point

Plus some people are forgetting that he’s only just recently converted to a DM for us. for France they used to play him on the right of the 3 behind the striker. His shooting is diabolical.

Lloris 3 - Poor. First goal began from his shit kicking, and the second needs no explaining. Cost us big time.
Trippier 5 - Should have closed down Robertson for the first goal, gave him far too much time and space.
Toby 8 - Good game, unfortunate own goal, couldn't have done anything about it.
Sanchez 6 - Does not convince me in the middle of a back 3. Switched off and got caught ball watching for their first goal and lost track of Firmino. Otherwise was not troubled that much
Jan 7 - Solid Game
Rose 8 - That's the Rose we need. Needs to play like that week in week out. Showed that the game meant a lot to him and played with heart. My slight criticism would be allowing Salah to get his head to the ball for their second goal, but Lloris really should have dealt with it.
Sissoko 8 - Great game yet again. He created the chance he had himself with a great run, but I never really thought he'd score from past experience. If he improves on that aspect of his game he'd be perfect. Hopefully he doesn't let that miss affect his confidence as he's been my player of the season.
Dele 6 - Sacrificed his game for the team by playing deeper than usual. Neat passing and tracked back well but would have liked for him to be more involved in the game.
Eriksen 4 - Poor again. What a shit end to the season he's having. Poor first touches, careless passes, taking too much time on the ball and losing possession multiple times. So disappointed as he is so so good on his day. When he plays well, the team plays well, and I believe that is why we have been getting such poor results recently, as he has been playing like this for a while now.
Lucas 9 - My MOTM. Did not expect him to play so well, always a threat, worked so hard for the team. So happy for him as I think so many were/are doubting his ability.
Kane 8 - His passing and hold up play are world class. Such a clever player and we are so lucky to have him. Such a shame we were not able to get him into good scoring chances, as we had some that fell to the wrong players perhaps (sissoko chance, eriksen chance, alli chance).
Son - Him coming on and switching formation really did the trick I felt. Started to dominate play from that point onwards.
Llorente - NET
Davies - NET

My ratings after some time so it's not emotionally compromised

Hugo 4 - didn't have anything to do the majority, pool were pretty meh. One good save, bad pass for first goal but then it was bad defending from trippier then Sanchez after.
Poor for second goal . Lack of concentration

Trippier 6 - ok apart from first goal, needed to to cut the cross, but in his defense no help with the formation.

Rose -7 good performance

Vert - 7 solid
Toby 8 good

Sanchez 7 mostly find, should've done better with first goal.
Ultimately our back 3 nullified Liverpool's outstanding attack .

Sissoko 8 - my motm, yeah through on goal but we all know he isn't a finisher so no point getting on him on that no more than if it was dier, wanyama, Toby , Davies etc who couldn't finish
Was great defending unfortunately from vvd.

Eriksen 6 - pretty meh apart from assist
Dele 5 - really not involved apart from one sweet shot
Lucas 7- very good , but didn't help defensively

Kane 6 - smart play for the goal, some good passing but otherwise meh , struggling to really get opportunities

Subs- zero impact

jenas: ''Against Liverpool you could clearly see the disconnect between Lloris and his defence - they seem to be worried about when he is going to make his next error too. ''

fucking, really? in a defence containing trippier n rose , i doubt the focus is on lloris.

where's the people saying '' we need to sign a hi level keeper to challenege lloris and up his game''

nowhere, just flaky bashers , who know nothing about loyallty. gullible punters happily lapping up any media agenda/drivel.

grow some bollocks and back the players

I think you need to be comparing like with like.
Janine's end of shift dropped baby is now on champion's league qualification life support.
She is not employee of the month and the SC voters share that view.

Football is all about fine margins

We take our late chance it caps off a display full of character and more to come back and beat them in that manner on their turf
Yet one error the other end and we are shit we are chokers
Now that I have calmed down, though gutted, I'm pretty optomistic that we will get top 4...we fucking played so well in large parts of the the game and it's such a shame all has been forgotten by one huge fuck up

But isn't this the very definition of Spurs as a club and the very thing which always happens to us? Football is indeed about fine margins and Spurs manage to fall the wrong side of them absolutely every time.

There's a reason we are called shit and chokers - because we are. It's all very well "playing well" and "full of character" and almost coming back to beat them... But we didn't come back and beat them, did we? We didn't even manage a draw. We somehow contrived to lose a game we should've won 4 times over by literally throwing the ball into our own net off our best defender in the last minute of the game.

You can't keep saying we almost beat Juventus and almost beat Liverpool and almost beat United and almost won an important game which actually mattered when it never, ever actually comes true. The truth is we lost to Liverpool and we lost to Juventus and we lost to United and we haven't actually won any of the games where it really mattered for over a decade.

Saying it's a shame all our good play has been forgotten because of one huge fuck up is missing the point - we always fuck it up so it's the huge fuck ups which matter, not the good football we play before we turn into a dumpster fire.

It's not good enough, it's boring, exhausting and it shows absolutely no signs of changing whatsoever. Absolutely none.

We can all relate. Bobbins. Especially, us older fans. And that last minute, self-inflicted kick in the nuts on Sunday hurt like hell! Still does. And it is reflective of how we've come up short at critical moments so many times. We wouldn't have those "spursy" "choker" tags otherwise; not to mention the clearly evident lack of trophies.

We can only look at the big picture in all of this, and where we are now. We're finally home, have Palace in the big one. Played well enough to at least get a draw at Anfield, which bodes well re upcoming form, especially considering we have the bulk of remaining games at our new home.

Aside from Man City away, we should get a good points haul from remaining PL games. Still favour us to get top 4, and although a long shot, we're still in the CL.

We're in a far better position than we've been in for years. It is frustrating, and exacerbated by the lack of investment in critical squad areas, like CMs. Still, when we claw our way to a trophy, and we will at some point, it'll be sweet and earned the hard way, and the right way.

Lloris - 0. Time and time again. I dont care how many saves hes made for us. These blunders are killing us.

Sissoko - 0. Time and time again. I dont care how much improved hes been for us. His inability to score is killing us.

I see Sissoko fluffing that big chance parallel to Son's rash tackle in the box that awarded Chelsea a penalty in the FA cup semi-final years ago. Both were in an unusual situation that neither of them were used to. In that heat of the moment, their brain frizzled due to the inexperience and made the wrong decision.

It was all mental for both of them; Sissoko, I am sure, despite finishing being not really his strength, if he stayed calm on the ball he would have been able to finish it. I don't doubt he practices shooting in training and he could be quite good at it too. But the other day, the pressure was enormous for the players to score in that moment and combine that with his inexperience (a 2v1 chance no less), that was just the most likely outcome imo once he realized he had to shoot it himself.

It was just unfortunate it was VVD they were up against, not Matip so to speak. I don't think it was some world-class defending but many defenders would have been quite tempted to just close Sissoko down ignoring Son or put in a rash tackle.

So what I am really trying to say is, I can't really fault Sissoko too much for not being able to finish that chance when it isn't even his main role.

One half consolation is if we had got the draw that we seemed to settle for, we'd still be below arse now and plummeting. The defeat would have finished our title hopes.... if they hadn't already been wrecked weeks ago.

It can be argued that us qualifying for the CL is not decided at the likes of anfield but in picking up the points in the rest of the season against (on paper) beatable teams.

If we qualify again, then any rational assessment of the season has to mark it down as a success.

I was watching the game with three Liverpool fans and a dirty Gooner. All 4 said Sissoko was our best player in the pitch second half with getting stuck in and starting getting the attacks going. Their biggest question was Eriksen playing.

Lloris lost us the game but he shouldn’t shoulder all the blame as that cock up by Sissoko was equally as poor. 2 options, put Sonny clean through or score yourself, not put the ball in orbit. Fair enough if the keeper saves it but he wasted a glorious chance to win the game and/or secure a draw if pool had equalised.

Totally agree, if only van Dijk hadn't been blocking that pass off
