Football is all about fine margins

We take our late chance it caps off a display full of character and more to come back and beat them in that manner on their turf
Yet one error the other end and we are shit we are chokers
Now that I have calmed down, though gutted, I'm pretty optomistic that we will get top 4...we fucking played so well in large parts of the the game and it's such a shame all has been forgotten by one huge fuck up

Rose for me was fantastic down the left and beat his man 9 times out of 10.

Agree, I voted for rose though Toby and Alli were very on point today. Danny looked expessive and I was particularly impressed with his close dribbling and body shifts, looked like he had extra bits in his locker today.

Lloris was poor and were he not our captain, would be getting dropped by now.

Lucas, Toby, and Rose were different gravy - top performances.

The rest were all excellent.

Deserved so much more, great performance.

Agreed on Toby, Lucas and Rose.

9 of the 10 OF players put in a shift. Excellent is vastly overstating it on some though. Lloris would not have been dropped and he wont be now.

I do get what you’ve said but! It happens for to often we crumble against our rivals. It plays into the stereotypical opinion unfortunately...we’ve seen it all before more disturbingly we expect it to happen. How we change this mentality is spend.

Ultimately, as horrendous as Hugo was for both goals, as pathetic as Sissoko was in an ideal situation, as under involved as Kane was, and I could go on through the team; when you set up so negatively, playing that deep and bypassing midfield because you don’t want to have to compete with Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum, you get what you deserve in the form of a last minute defeat.

Our tactics were ridiculously negative, and when they were corrected we got on top and looked the better team for that second half, only for the guys in charge to shit themselves again and bring off our best attacker on the day for Ben Davies.

Yesterday fucking killed me.

Not quite recovered yet. Me not them.
Verts and Alders played well. (7)
Gave it to Rose for effort and enterprise.(7+)
Moura Lively (6+) More under control.
Sissoko (6) involved unfortunately in the wrong place at the right time
Dele and Eriksen struggling (6) Dele playing too far from goal.
Kane (5+) Brilliant quick free kick that led to the equaliser. Otherwise coasting.
Trippier (5) never did take in the hype about his crossing.
Sanchez (5) AWOL now and then.
Lloris(4) both goals down to him Should be dropped for Gaz but it won't happen.

Played well enough to win overall, individual errors led to their goals
and our failure to clinch the game.
Everything up in the air now.
Remains to be seen if the new stadium is an inspiration or not.
Sad decline at a crucial pre-run in stage.

They weren't negative they were just wrong. We setup exactly the same way against Dortmund 5-3-2 meaning that their full backs had so much space because they weren't being marked as we had no wide men. We changed to a 4-5-1 which allowed us to gain more control of the match.

Lloris lost us the game but he shouldn’t shoulder all the blame as that cock up by Sissoko was equally as poor. 2 options, put Sonny clean through or score yourself, not put the ball in orbit. Fair enough if the keeper saves it but he wasted a glorious chance to win the game and/or secure a draw if pool had equalised.

Enjoyed watching moura yesterday, always seemed a threat and is one nippy little player on his day. Also he's a freak for heading the ball on despite his height haha.

Toby & Rose the other standouts for me.

For me , Dele (5) just isn't doing it , gets a free pass generally on here , but his thinking seemed so slow , numerous touches instead of crisp passing . He has not developed, its appears, since his breakthrough season .

V frustrating game . Rose (7) and Lucas(7) doing their best . Toby was great will be a huge miss( 8) Eriksen(5.5) is miles off his peak and has been so a long time . He'd better hope his dream clubs are not watching . Coupla great sweeping passes from Harry(6) , but not much else .

For periods we were doing well vs Pool so there was at least some energy which is the consolation Poch was mentioning in his presser

The loser that cost us the game is a world cup winning captain

Stick the French team in front of Warwick Davis and you'll have a team capable of winning the world cup. He also did his best to fuck up the final remember? Getting hard to keep defending him now.

Lloris 3 Looked panic stricken at every corner and gifted them a winner.
Trippier 4 Why he thought he needed to be 'helping' Toby when he should have stopped Robertson is a mystery - but then, as Souness said, he's just not a good defender.
Rose 5 Worked hard but simply cannot provide a ball into the box.
Toby 8 MOM. We'll miss him.
Sanchez 6 Did his best but looked jittery.
Jan 7 Did OK.
Sissoko 6 Worked hard and bossed CM in the 2nd half. Will he ever score a goal?
Dele 5 OK but coughed up possession too easily on a number of occasions.
Eriksen 4 Anonymous.
Lucas 7 Worked hard and fought hard.
Kane 5 Fell over a lot and won a few free kicks, but that doesn't win matches.

Horrible loss. IMO if Winks plays we win that one.
