1st Half:

Went just as I thought it would. They were always going to pressure and bombard us, where we coped well and eventually took control of the game while they tire. Good defensive play by all, but needed to control the ball better as it seems that the ball always stuck to their players while bouncing off ours, putting unnecessary pressure on us.

2nd Half:

Game to plan. Get our goal on the break and then just sat back and controlled the game, resulting in a clean sheet and draw in the quarter finals. My contenders for MOTM are Verts, Lloris, Sissoko and Kane.

All round we were great. I was very impressed by Aurier and Davies, who I wasn't too keen on beforehand but they both did their jobs very well, so I'd like to mention them in particular

My man of the match is Sissoko who biased the midfield once again.
Joint second for Vertonghen, Kane and Lloris

Hugo obviously MOTM but I loved Sissoko in this game. What an unbelievable performance from a player who was pretty much a laughing stock 6 months ago.

All credit to him for turning it around.

Keeper, defence, Sissoko and Referee were very good. The rest were all decent.

Hugo MOTM for me. It could've been a different story if we had conceded in the 1st half and he made some key saves.

Thought Sissoko played well again and is almost becoming indispensable. Verts and Davies also deserve credit for their last ditch tackles/blocks.

@Shadydan well, tactics worked!

Although I think we rode our luck a bit in the first half, inviting that much pressure I'm amazed they didn't score. But, they didn't as the defensive display from all our defenders was a masterclass.at times.

Hugo shades the motm for me over Verts and Sissoko. He was outstanding first half.

Lloris 8

Aurier 7.5
Toby 7
Sanchez 7.5
Verts 8
Davies 7.5

Sissoko 8 MOTM
Winks 7.5
Eriksen 6

Son 6
Kane 8

Love how Sissoko gets MOTM in a CL last 16 game after all the abuse. Great assist, strength, so much running and has added composure on the ball that he didn't have 6 months ago. Never stopped running, love it.

Just picked Vertonghen over Hugo. If Verts doesn't make that challenge early on it is a very different game.

Whole team were fantastic. Every single player deserves credit.

Yeah but I think we would have expected the onslaught from Dortmund regardless. I think if it was 0-1 then we wouldn't nt have been that relaxed.

Oh Harry Kane should be dropped he's spoiling Son's game and now we're losing. Lloris should be replaced his a liability...that's football

There were times we couldn't string 2 passes together or hold onto the ball for more the 1.5 minute (was counting) we then had a good 8 minutes before half time and the game changed we'd taken all Dortmund could dish out.

Excellent team performance Sissoko what an assist, Eriksen Son all ran marathons

Lloris 10
