it's not about belief or confidence, he just doesn't have it. look at the difference between him and gil, they're levels apart.

as an attacker the only things sessegnon has ever had is good timing and composure in front of goal, on the ball however he's very limited. he might make it as a lb with a lot of work, whether we can give him the time and opportunities needed though i don't know.

I thought Sessegnon was very poor tonight for me he looked a little lost unsure as to whether to hold the line or push inside and it was so indecisive - the chance that he almost got to if he had gone even a fraction earlier it was a tap in - it was directly in front of me and you could see his indecision.

I don't agree that he is very limited I saw him in Fulham's youth teams and he was a stand out but for me at the moment he lacks a position he is not a winger and he is not defensively aware enough to be a full back though maybe with the game in front of him it might be easier

Ryan sessegnon did alright today. He was busy and didn't have to do much defending, but did fine on the occasions I recall he was needed. Just didn't get the 'rub of the green' today, poor officiating made him.look a bit ineffective going forward, there were a few dubious decided against him. He's a quick, strong lad and with game time it'll come.

Loved Gio today. He is one of those players I'd hate to come up against as you know your ankles are game for a bruise. He was fouled a.lot, but got stuck in and i was happy for him to score.

Gil. Boy was everywhere, his off the ball movement and energy was amazing too. One to watch. You need to watch this lad pitch side to appreciate his effort levels.

And a cheeky shout to winks. He was decent today.

Only players that I thought was a bit average was Doherty. He didn't do anything wrong, but seems to be shot of confidence to me. One ball came pinging over to him that was crying for a quick one touch cross and he fluffed it. Come on lad! Let's see some Irish fight ans show us what you're more than capable of.

A cup we can win.

Gil does give off that David Silva vibe! Busy, skillful, and courageous. Can only see him going from strength to strength.

Sorry, but I simply don't see it from Sess yet. That said, I fully accept that we all see players and games differently. Right now, I just see a player who doesn't play with fire in his belly. He always seems like he's holding back a smidge. Like he's afraid of getting hurt or making a mistake. But what is most telling for me, is that he seemed to always be off the pace when it came to pressing. A few times you could see our other players pointing to him and giving him instructions to press further up. But he seemed a little hesitant. But like I said earlier, that could just be my interpretation. I do occasionally see something of substance in him, but I'm not feeling all that confident that he'll make an impact this season.

Lastly, a word for Winks. I know he's a our favorite pinata... but he was good today. Excellent defensively and fought hard all game long. Held the center with Lo Celso, which was the exact opposite of the away game.

Oh, one more thing... was it just me, or was the ref too lenient on the opposition players? Just like the first game, they were a bit dirty and got away with a lot of poor fouls. Yet, we saw Romero get a yellow for a challenge where is clearly won the ball. And was it Winks who also got booked for something similar? You compare that to their left back who did eventually pick up a yellow, but the guy pretty much had the freedom to foul as much as he wanted with this ref.

Anyways. A solid team performance. Nice to see Harry play and score. Another clean sheet, and off we go to the group stages. Hurrah!

Bits I saw was we had a shape. Kane looked razor sharp. Defence was sound.

Nuno has a plan. Shame he is treated like a caretaker manager by the powers that be.

Kane - 8 One of our 3 world class players (Son, Llloris)
Gil - 7 A delight to watch
Lo Celso - 7 Eriksen Lite, good thinking seeing Kane was covered and took his shot well, was fouled a lot
Dier - 7 Not a foot wrong
Romero - 7 Another delight to watch
Winks - 6 Fighting for his position, which is good to see
Doherty - 6 Knows what he has to do for Nuno
Davies - 6 Archetypal Davies performance, no mistakes, nothing above average
Gollini - 6 Nervy start, got better as the game went along
Sessegnon - 4 There is a player in there, but not today
Lucas - 4 One in four/five games he plays very well (Man City), the others he plays like a headless chicken, that was today

Subs
Son - 7 Lots of running, and smiling, I love him
Dele - 7 Class. If he can cement the box to box roll he will provide a lot of goals and a lot of assists
Hojbjerg - 7 Once he came on, the opposition rarely entered our third
Bergwijn - 6 There is also a very good player in there, he will come good

Spurs v Roma final - you can see it now coming up against Jose!
As I understand, there are a bunch of europa group stage rejects who will join the conference at the knock-out stage, We haven't got the full picture yet to work out likely finalists.

Bet you feel a bit silly now after both of them starting, both of them having good games and us winning comfortable.
No, I really don’t. Happy the boys won and could give a shit that I’ve made an inaccurate prediction about a football match.

Good detective work though mate.

A good all round performance. Some of the(so far) nonstarters got some good minutes under their belt.
Two of our regular scapegoats, Winks( great sliding tackle to start the move for first goal) and Doherty(what a pass to Kane in the first few seconds) had good games.
Kane scored 2.
Lo Celso was bright and busy, although I still think he needs to impose himself more on games.
Berwijn was very bright when he came on. If he could only score a goal I believe the the floodgates could open for him. He has bags of talent.
MOM for me by a country mike was Gil. He was always moving, making runs in behind, always looking for space, wanting the ball. When he had it he had his head up always looking to make something happen. His first 3 crosses picked out a player in the box, the first of which picked Kane out for the first goal. On top of that he could easily had a hat trick. What a prospect!
When we have Gil why in heavens name are we considering wasting money on Traore? For all the chaos Traore causes he’s never had as a productive a game as Gil had tonight. Bringing him in will only stifle Gil’s development which would be criminal.

Loads of running from Gil (8) making our passers lives so much better . Excellent match .

Noticed the fan's occasional disapproval of 400k Kane (8)...undertow of boos under the cheers sometimes .Understandable , but will surely fade .

I got that David Silva vibe off Bryan Gil too. Not a bad player to compare with particularly when we’re looking for a playmaker.

Didn't Poch only get a short contract at PSG with an optional extension , clubs not looking to get involved in long expensive contracts maybe.

Agree this is the new norm. Why sign someone on a long deal when most are gone within 3 seasons?
Chelseas Tuchel was on a 1 season contract I believe.

Especially when clubs might have to play behind closed doors again if another wave of covid strikes with the resultant loss of income.
