Would anyone else argue that Erikson was our poorest player? Not that he had a very bad game but his free kicks and corners, which are usually his hallmark, were found wanting plus he passed the ball quite often to the opposition, where we could have been punished by a better team. My onions.

Yes and no. He's settling but he's still taking chances which makes me really optimistic. I think he hasn't quite found his role in the starting 11. But when it does, he'll be electric.

I think he is doing what most of us thought he couldn't; put a shift in when things aren't quite going his way. Been very impressed with his work rate and discipline. Reminds a bit of mod ric in the way he always has time and looks for a pass. Good player that will only get better with games.

Got to disagree with these. Don't think any player was worse than a 7. :D

Lloris 6.5 - Confident but not much action
Naughton 6.5 - A very un-Naughton performance at times
Dawson 5.5 - A very Dawson performance
Vlad 6.5
Fryers 7
Dembele 8.5 - Just edges MOTM just for the goal. Great performance
Paulinho 9 - Tekkers and would have probably got his goal if it wasn't for Chunky Adam
Eriksen 6 - A bit sloppy but some good phases too
Lennon 7 - Some woeful play, some decent play. Good goal
Soldado 7 - Well taken pen
Ade 7 - Loved his crazy acrobatics that demonstrated that Shawcross is little more than a functioning moron

Subs
Capoue 6.5 - Had nothing to do
Lamela 7.5 - I don't care that Lennon scored, Lamela was so much more assured in play
Chadli 6.5 - a few neat bits and pieces

Yeah, no one should get less than a 7.

Dembele was superb today, I've been critical of him but he was outstanding. If he can produce performances like this more regularly then he deserves to start every game, he just needs to be a bit more consistent! :)

Paulinho would have got my MOTM rating, but the Dembele goal tipped it. Paulinho needs to work on his shooting! The rest of his game is great.

MotM:
1- Dembele, played 90 min and scored
1a- Paulinho, would've been #1 if played 90 min
1b- Adebayor, his action all over the pitch set th tone for everyone else

Great game for Spurs!!

I take it you don't like dawson or lennon? Lamela is a better player than Lennon but it doesn't mean he was better today. Lennon scored a good goal, worked hard and created at least 2 good chances. Lamela played well, showed some good movement and passing but didn't score create. How do you score Lamela more than lennon? Vote on what happened not on what you would like to happen.

I was watching it on a Shitty stream but I have to admit I enjoyed that alot. I always worry about playing teams like stoke they normally always have a real go at us put all their men behind the ball, kick us about and normally Nick a point but today they were absolutely awful they did not even do that they literally had nothing.

We started brightly and was all over them but just couldn't get the goal nothing seemed to fall for us, and I did think to myself it is going to be one of those days, dominate them but just can't open them up just can't get that goal but luickly the ref did not give them a penalty which I thought did look like it was and gave a penalty to us which was a correct decision from then on we was in total cotnrol.

Overall we played really well, actually passed the ball around one, two touch stuff, we played some lovely balls and opened them up but we were allowed to do it stoke were so poor we should of won by many more, this was a good result but do not get carried away I think we would of won this under avb easy aswell, whatever a good result.

Lloris- nothing to do literally

Naughton- easy day done good job

Dawson- lucky boy not to give away pen

Vlad- good job

Fredricks- done well some good crosess got forward well too

Lennon- made some good runs looked lively and scored a great goal

Paulhino- very good game some lovely touches, passes, Shame he leans back when he shoot

Dembele- great game great goal

Erikson- worked hard came into the game more later on I thought making some lovely touches and passes

Ade- great game, held it up so wel, made some Amazing balls, very very good, links up so well

Soldado- worked hard, good pen shame he didn't score more

Capoue- done very well when on

Lamela- unlucky not to start came straight into the game some great skill and some lovely runs need to start IMO what a player

Chadli- looked good when he Came on bit like when he came on at soSouthampton, made some good runs

I don't think you can give Soldado more than a 6. If he misses those chances in games where we desperately need goals then the team will suffer. I really want Soldado to do well but he cant keep missing sitters.

Lloris had nothing to do but he looks dodgy on crosses, slightly worried about him.

Dawson was lucky not give away a penalty in the first half, I haven't seen the replay but it didnt look like he got the ball and he was done for pace on that occasion.

Lennon will always be a 6. Gave the ball away, ran into dead ends and his own teammates. Good goal but I saw that as his only contribution.

Lloris - X - Nothing to do.

Naughton - 7.5 - Excellent, said for a while that he is more technically skilled and has a better footballing brain than Walker, played real well today and did good vs a tricky winger.
Dawson - 8 - Commanding, these are the games he relishes.
Chiriches - 7.5 - Did well and good distribution/carrying forward from the back. Handled Crouch easily.
Fryers - 7 - Solid display/debut, looked a bit nervous with some passes but overall very involved and did well.

Lennon - 6 - Good goal (albeit deflected) but was a real hindrance to our play the whole first half.
Paulinho - 9 - Unreal display.
Dembele - 8.5 - Dominant and a great goal.
Eriksen - 7 - All over the place, worked hard, linked up, etc, but not too much of an end product. Still a very good showing though.

Soldado - 7.5 - Sent in the cross that won the pen and was ice cold slotting it away. Worked very hard, all over the place winning balls and linking up with everyone.
Adebayor - 7.5 - Great performance, similar to Soldado rating.
Note: These two HAVE to start converting their chances though.

Capoue - 7 - Didn't have much to do but seemed to do a lot in cutting out the few attacks.
Chadli/Lamela - NET, game was more or less over and just an exhibition. Lamela looked to get on the ball more than Chadli, did well with it, but stupid yellow.

Do you mean like Adebayor scoring 3 goals in 2 games since being back in the team?

Harshness lol.

Apparently the Stoke bus broke down. So who that shower was I have no idea. First dozen players they could find on the High Road. Worst team I've seen in years. Spurs better all round but sterner tests to come. Like very soon.

Lloris.........6+...Got the first chapter of his memoirs written.
Naughton...7.....In his natural position he's not as bad as some make out.
Dawson.....6+...Decent distribution. One silly lunge.
Chichires....7.....Good display, had time to bring the ball out.
Fryers........7.....Bit hesitant on the ball but pretty solid. Got forward well
Paulinho......7+...Some positively Brazilian touches. Pity he can't shoot.
Dembele.....8.....Strong performance today. Fine goal.
Lennon.......7.....Lively and put the ball into the right areas. But there was nobody there. Great goal.
Eriksen.......6+..Glimpses of the key player he might become for us. Poor dead ball kicking.
Soldado......7....Good work rate and positional sense. Missed a sitter. Cool penalty
Ade............7+..Also missed a sitter but played well overall. Be nice Tim, he could make the difference.

He helped create the penalty, which he then scored, and got 2 assists. Yes, he should have scored that chance in the second half but are you saying playing a part in 100% of the goals = 6?

Lennon should have got a 4 for the first half, he was double wank and shit chips at times, Naughton was the danger man on the right! KYLE NAUGHTON!
I score Lennon lower than Lamela because is you compare any 20 minute segment from Lennon against Lamela's whole match then you'd agree with me.

It isn't a vote either, it's opinion...My MOTM vote went to Paulinho

It was a joke cause of how arbitrary a number based rating system is. Soldado worked hard, got a goal and an assist. That's a decent performance right?

Hugo Lloris (15) Wasn’t required to do much as Stoke posed no attacking threat, but completed 60% of his passes, which is an improvement on recent games.

Kyle Naughton (19) Much improved on his horror show against Liverpool last time out, he completed 90% of his 68 attempted passes and won three out of five tackles.

01.png

Michael Dawson (9) Susceptible in the air as he won just two of six aerial battles, but completed two clearances and made two interceptions.

Vlad Chriches (45) Made seven clearances, two interceptions and completed 98% of his 50 passes, misplacing just one all game.

01.png

Zeki Fryers (18) Given a vote of confidence for his first Premier League start and completed two out of four crosses, made two interceptions and two clearances.

Aaron Lennon (22) Scored with his only attempt on goal, but was successful with only two of ten take-on attempts and failed to find a Spurs man with any of his four crosses.

Mousa Dembele (79) Terrific display from the Belgian who scored with his only shot on goal, completed all three take-on attempts and completed 97% of his 72 passes.

01.png

Paulinho (30) Excellent game from the restored Brazilian, who completed 92% of his 39 attempted passes and won all five of his take-on attempts before unfortunately being substituted with injury

01.png

Christian Eriksen (41) Only found a Spurs man with one of eight crosses, but forced three saves from Sorensen and completed 84% of his passes.

Emmanuel Adebayor (24) His blocked shot led to the penalty, while he had two other shots and completed both take-on attempts.

Roberto Soldado (68) Scored from the penalty spot again and assisted Lennon’s goal, while he had a further three shots and completed hsi one take-on attempt.

Subs:

Etienne Capoue (9) Made two interceptions and completed 84% of his passes, but conceded two fouls.

Erik Lamela (-9) Got booked in his short time on the pitch and lost out on both attempted tackles.

Nacer Chadli (0) Cameo display from the Belgian winger, but he completed eight out of his ten attempted passes.
