It wasn't to be for us. We are out, but we created enough chances to go through.
I had hoped that we could have risked a little bit more in extra time, because at that time, we had an advantage. One goal, and they had needed to score 2 goals.
In the penalty shootout, you could almost read through the lines that we were the weaker side. Gomes is a top class penalty keeper, and Robinson is not. All credit to Robinson for saving one penalty, but to be fair - it was not a good penalty either. All the other penalties were easy for them, as Robinson already laid down before the shot was gone.
We need a new goalkeeper for sure. When we play matches like this, we really discover that we need a top class goalkeeper as out 1st choice. Robinson did some good saves today, but overall, he is not world class.
Neither was Jenas', or Chimbonda's. If Jenas' had gone in, would you be blaming Robinson?
Have you been watching Spurs lately? I take it you haven't, which is unfortunate, because you've missed some top-class saves lately.
And hey, Superscout, how are Toulouse, your team to watch ++, doing? Fantastic performance by the World's Most Gifted Team in the ACN, too. I just loved the way they rolled Egypt over.
