For peanuts as well… Bayern excel at signing highly promising and established players for much lower sums than the EPL throws around for mediocre to good players.
Yeah I recall he had 18 months left when we went for him in January. I do think Paratici also is great at picking up these type of deals with players low on contract though.

Renato Sanches could be an option. Great energy and pace and good on the ball seems a bit under the radar. Something that I think were missing closing down quicker and recovery pace in midfield. Bissouma should still be at the top of the list for me though

Would love De Jong personally but seen him linked with City
I know it would be unlikely, but dream scenario for me is get Dybala on a free thus freeing up funds and going all out for De Jong. Even at 70 mil he’d be worth it IMO. I think with those two, on top of who we are already looking to complete would make us serious contenders for the PL next season. De Jong would be such a phenomenal purchase and fit in really well alongside ether Bentancur PEH.

City as you say is most likely and he’d unfortunately fit in perfectly in their midfield. Does seem like Utd are trying hard as well. But yes, he’s be the absolutely perfect addition to our team. I do however feel like we may end up trying hard for McKennie if he is actually available. Which to me would be a little underwhelming.

Just on a side note, Gavi still hasn’t renewed his contract. He has a 50 mil release clause. I know Liverpool are sniffing and he supposedly doesn’t want to leave Barca, but if we could somehow snag him that would also be unbelievable. He will easily be one of the best, if not the best, midfielder in the world In a few years IMO. Kid is as exciting a prospect as Mbappe was three/four seasons ago.

Could get creative with a deal for Barca and include Sergio Reguilon and Bryan Gil if we are going to sell him. Read Barca were interested in Sergio and I’d assume they would hold an interest in Gil.

Lorenzo Pellegrini/Fabian Ruiz
Fabian Ruiz only has a year left on his contract. Would be a good move and not overly expensive. As someone else mentioned Ranato Sanchez would also be a good pick. There are other excellent options out there. It doesn’t have to be McKennie.

Love Gavi , not sure where he would play though. Could maybe play in a 2, he's certainly tenacious enough but probably more suited to the inside support forward role. I'm sure Conte can teach him to tie his laces too.

One good thing about De Jong is his versatility. He can sit deep or play as an 8. He's even filled in at the back (maybe the odd cover for Dier?).

With this new cash injection I could definitely see us paying a large fee for a top class CM, likewise an elite forward, but isn't De Jong on properly crazy wages at Barca? I think that's the main reason they're open to selling him. Hard to know what's true and what isn't but I've seen multiple reports of £400k per week out there and I think he's currently Barcas highest paid remaining player. Only City or Man U are going to go near that.

If we're thinking about CM then Declan Rice would be an unbelievable signing...probably won't happen but we could try and offer Winks Rodon Moura and change.

We've got about as much chance of signing Saka or Mason Mount.

No fee or player exchange would be worth the rioting fans and PR disaster that selling Rice to us would cause West Ham.

Hasn't ITK taken a dump from a great height on YB joining us? Seems rather busy in here still!!

This has in no way taken the place of the recently departed Scouting thread, but only for midfielders. No, not at all. :cautious:

Highly doubtful but who knows maybe things with West Ham could be different with Paratici. I mean Chelsea have long been linked with Rice so not sure why West Ham would sell to them but not us. They wouldn't be negotiating with Levy anymore.
