I was referring specifically to Everton though. I always thought James Rodriguez was a busted flush. Guys like him and Coutinho will always have flashes but then lose interest at that kind of level. They've spent massive money on guys like Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Walcott, Iwobi, Keane, Doucoure, Delph, Moise Kean, Gbamin, Mina, Klaassen, Tosun. All over 20 million I think. I'd say Richarlison is the single big one they got right. Moise Kean was the only one I wanted us to get at the time. They signed Klaassen, Rooney and Siggy in the same window and people claimed they had an amazing window...they all play in the same position! They're a shit show of a club with worse leadership than Man Utd. Our track record is quite poor but way better than theirs.

But yeah, Bissouma would have been good but I'm suspicious as to why the fee is apparently so much lower than they demanded for Ben White...

He's good but I like the protection we get from Bentancur and Skipp. I would rather a more box to box type who gets forward like Hojbjerg with more end product.

Bissouma is far more box to box and dynamic than PEH.

Assists is more what I'm thinking. Hojbjerg gets into some great positions but has been lacking with his final ball. I think Bentancur is more the Jorginho of our team anyway, the presser tends to be more box to box. I would love a Gerrard type to complete the midfield. Someone who gets a foot in but technical in the final 3rd. Gazza was so special at that because aside from his obvious talent with the ball he was fierce in the tackle too.

This why I quite like our links to Aouar at Lyon last window. He has a spark in the final third, decent at setting other people up, can score a goal, is technically gifted and physically he can handle himself well enough. He’s like the flip side of Bentancur, many similarities to me except more attacking and less defensive.

If nothing else it confirms that we do hold on an interest, and if we were willing to make in offer in January, it suggests that his court case won't end up being an issue

Matheus Nunes comes to mind. But I think it was considered likely Man City would go for him.

We haven’t been linked but for me, Fabian Ruiz would be amazing. Creative, press resistant, skilful, has a great shot, and works hard. basically everything Conte would love in his system.
