Not too dissimilar from him and Dembélé a couple of seasons ago.Step by step starting to look fitter
Fingers crossed because a fit Wanyama is a top player, imagine him and Sissoko in combat.

IIRC we looked our best with VW and MD in a 343 which was more like a 545 such was the prowess of peak Walker and Rose.Sissoko and wanyama in a 424 formation. Not much finese in their but will dominate the cm area and shuttle it forwards.
Could help us re introduce a hard pressing system.

As a defensive base he gives us much better protection than what we've had recently. However, Wanyama isn't a player who can take the ball and drive forward bursting through the lines, like Sissoko or Winks can. It's why we struggled to penetrate or attack quickly last night. Therefore we do really need that balance for it to be completely effective. If we can get VW back to 16/17 levels then we may be right. We still need another CM though.Promising signs again from Big Vic. He's not at his best yet but he really gives us something different in the middle that we've been missing all season. I thought his physicality gave us a lot of protection yesterday and, while his passing and shooting aren't amazing, he's better and more adventurous than either Dier or Sissoko in that regard.
Really hope his injury worries are over cos he could be absolutely huge for us next season.
After a run of games I expected victor to be somewhat up to speed. He just doesn’t have that awareness around him at the moment.
Yep, sadly was alone tonight on that scoreAbsolutely tragic performance.
