Ah, but did JJ's info state or suggest that that was a permanent state of affairs?

If not, can a player who is being picked be written off for the rest of his career?

There was also a post by either Hercules or JJ that was deleted shortly after it was posted. I'm not sure if anyone else caught it -- if I remember correctly, it mentioned that some plans would be contingent on VW regaining and/or proving fitness...

That's sort of what resonates in my head. If he would never pass a medical, as in permanently being unable, surely the club would release him?

I dunno, but I do think the fact that we have someone of the quality of Wanyama ready to step in the moment both Dier and Winks become unavailable means that we do have some depth.

im singing that to the tune of 'Diamonds on the soles of her feet' (Paul Simon) as i think its about time we personalized the songs a bit more. My other suggestion is humming the rif from 'Day Tripper' as a song for Trippier.....(illl get my coat)

BIG shout out to Victor for last night. 2nd game in a week after months out and there couldn't be a higher pressure situation. Yes, he struggled and lacked some pace. Yes, he misplaced a few passes and had next to no control in midfield, but he gave everything and more. He avoided an almost guaranteed yellow card and disrupted at every possible opportunity and showed huge committment and heart. When we lost Sissoko I thought we were toast but Vic had other ideas. Absolute beast! So pleased for him after a terribly rough time.

A forgotten highlight from last night: Victor's 'if in doubt, boot it out' moment.

Poor old Vic looked absolutely shattered towards the end, barely enough strength to kick the fluff off a dandelion.

But that was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen on a football pitch. The pause as he looked up, assessed his options.......before leathering the ball into touch.

Absolutely Magnificent stuff.

So happy for him after being injured for so long. The emotions he must be going through today after scoring Saturday then last night must be unreal.

He should have kicked the ball down the line which would have wasted more time

Delighted this was in here. He was a little off the pace at times but he wasn’t hiding one bit. He actually had a very good last 10 minutes or so, which given his situation was quite incredible.

Will he be able to cope with another game so quick after the last against City ? May have to play because of injuries but he may be a real worry for today.

I'd much sooner rest him for this one and save him for the run in.

Looked significantly better today. Used his strength well and moved the ball a lot quicker. All we can hope for is he can stay healthy for the rest of season and take if from there. If he's truly over his injuries and can recapture his form from seasons ago, we'll be better for it.
