Mate I don't think we Spurs fans are spiteful without reason. If he was putting a shift in and a fat fucker we would not care!

So calling him fat, when he isn't, is a reasonable way to express your dissatisfaction? I'm a Spurs fan and there happen to be plenty of fans who are not spiteful about the situation. They understand it hasn't worked out and they are disappointed but they don't resort to petty insults to make themselves feel better.

The amount of Tanguy cocksuckers is unbelievable. The guy has fleeced the club for years and it does not feel right to let him just walk back in. No Europe and no need for great depth and no need for him!

You tell em, pumpkin!

Who cares? My loyalty is with the Spurs fans.

So what's the hope here? Are you hoping to convince other people to fall in line with your thinking? Are you looking for a safe space to keep calling him fat? I don't get your endgame here, so I will be clear - I support the team and if Ange can find a way to get the best out Tanguy, count me in. Alternatively, If Ange decides that Tanguy isn't worth the hassle anymore, cool, sell him. We move on and this thread can finally die.

I was responding to the post. I don't take offence to fans calling him fat. Equally if he stays past the window and does the team proud them great I believe in meritocracy though until then I see no need to defend or take offence at the jibes.

As an aside, who was that little Irish lad we had? Andy something?
Was as wide as he was tall but I really liked him.

Different times then though, different times

You dont think Spurs fans are spiteful without reason? The same set of fans who abused Sanchez and Emerson and thats just this past season.

There are very few players I won't defend, but Ndombele is one. And yes, the money we have wasted on him has a lot to do with it - and rightly so.

Imagine if when Dembele left we'd replaced him 6 months earlier with the much cheaper Tielemans, who we were looking at.

Can't help thinking that was a sliding doors moment.

No way is it fair to compare him to Dele, so unfair to D.
Dele has at least produced something to want to give him a chance and been great for a bit. Still waiting for that from TN.
I wasn’t comparing them as players dude, just using the situation as a comparison, as in gotta let it go kinda thing, as I can’t see it turning around

Yep. Reached his peak at Sunderland.

I don't think it's about taking offence, for most of us it's just boredom of hearing the same shit jokes repeatedly. Playground humour being delivered pretty poorly in most cases.

His talent is massively overrated. As people have said, it's street football talent, turns and flicks that don't do anything much to help the team actually progress.

As for people comparing him to Dembele or suggesting he's one of the top 5 most talented players Spurs have had, Jesus H.

Nah when he's actually trying his passing and vision is excellent too, and his flicks and tricks aren't Taraabt nonsense where a player wastes time and go down blind alleys - they're generally draw players in, take them out of the game and create space for others.

He's a lazy fucker so doesn't do anywhere near enough, but I think he's genuinely class on the rare occasion or moment that he does make an effort. Champions League team of the season with repeated MOTM performances against City, among others when he actually had the incentive to get himself a big move.

There's a reason we were so excited to get him - it's because his potential is so damn high.

Let's be honest, how many would have the balls to try and actually score this? (It's his goal v Sheffield United by the way).

He has the technical ability. It's his mental application and attitude that has been the problem.

It's all about application with Tanguy. He's got the skills but one hard tackle and he's out of the game. No desire to get stuck in and mix it up. Shame really, he'd be some talent if he did. As it stands he's too much of a luxury player to start most games. Could be a useful impact sub. He was definitely not worth anything close to what we paid for him tho

Brilliant answer from Ange in todays presser 🤣🤣

Tanguy has been good. He's been working hard in training as they all have because they've got no choice! I take things as I see them. He was part of a Serie A-winning side last season and he's been working well. Within that context I'm pleased to have him here and part of the group. What that means for the long-term we'll see. Maybe he won't want to be part of things.

You can tell he's not impressed and Tanguy's lazy because he said he's working hard but he never said he's working "very" hard. Clearly not doing enough.
