Whilst no one can question his attitude and fitness (or apparent lack of) surely no one question his talent and technical ability. He has this in the bucket load
No-one questions his talent. But no-one questioned Adel Taarabt's.

Point is, talent is irrelevant if a player seemingly has no drive.

The guy can't complete 90 minutes, he's useless.

To be fair to Ndombele it’s his stamina that lets him down. Over a short space he actually has a burst to get past people. You see it all the time in his YT clips.

Yep.

I don't think he is lazy because 'he just can't be arsed'.

I genuinely think he is missing that % that the very best players have in which they can just keep going.

It seems to be a mental thing where he just can't push the extra percentage that those others do.

Plenty of talented players get thrown by the wayside at younger ages because they just don't have that unrelenting mentality.

Because he is more of a 'street footballer' he probably had it too easy when he was coming through but couldn't make that stamina match his game.

Tanguy reputation was built on one outstanding season when he played in champ lge for Lyon. Best player on the pitch Vs City and Barca in all 4 games. Voted into the champ lge team of that season by uef@.
since then, not a lot. Serie A winners medal for coming on for last 10-20 mins . Got about as much right to that medal as Kalvin Philips has for his 3.
book value is about 11m just take it and shift the wages.
Tbf he did feature in all but 7 of their league games and 1 of their CL games and got ~1200 mins across all comps.

For reference that's only 200 mins fewer than Richarlison had for us and he had 15 starts for us.

Not a huge amount of game-time but he did play his part.

There’s yer trouble. His technical ability resembles a football freestyler more than anything useful on a pitch. His passing is awful, always direct to feet at high pace which gives him good completion stats but puts huge pressure on teammates, he’s not good at weighting a pass into space. Frankly, he doesn’t have any attributes of a good player, let alone one of the best in the world.

Was going to link some clips, but the fact you think this makes me think i'd be wasting my time.

His weight of pass is actually brilliant.

"He doesn't have any attributes of a good player."

Fucking hell :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Changed my mind, watch this (Yes it's youtube highlights) and tell me one midfielder we currently have that has the skill set that he does..

The weird thing with your post is 99% of Spurs fans can appreciate he's extremely talented, thats not the issue, its the other stuff. For you to say he's not a good player is just plain stupid.

Also worth noting, he's gone away for a year and who knows, maybe he's had time to reflect on what he done wrong before, everyone deserves another chance, especially under a new manager.

You definitely are :LOL: There's no way someone who's wached Tanguy a decent amount of times could honestly, without bias state "He doesn't have any attributes of a good player " - and no amount of compilations will change that opinion. Such is life.

In terms of raw natural talent I'd say he's top 10 players I've seen at Spurs in my lifetime. Maybe even top 5.

If he had the attitude and commitment to match his ability he could be world class.

That's what makes him so bloody frustrating, he could have the world at his feet if he would only apply himself properly.
I'm sure that's the reason he gets the hate and abuse he does, because of what he should be, more than what he is.

Funny thing is he's the quintessential spurs player in every way. But people will prefer some work horse. I pay to go to spurs to watch this kind of player
