What's more crazy is poch and pretty much everyone else could never imagined what kane would do so they must have thought Soldado and Adebayor was enough!
I think everyone thought the pair of them couldn't have been worse than last season...oh how wrong we were!

20-25m if I was speculating. Sounds depressing bit if you were to offset that against Eriksens obvious rise in value then our spending splurge probably leaves us about square in pure £'s.
Hmm not sure. I wouldnt call eriksen 35 mill. Plus we've lost a huge amount on paulinho and chiriches too

Agreed with the thrust of that, but even putting aside my ever-increasing annoyance with him (that only seems to grow greater with his every disgraceful performance), you're being WAAAAY optimistic if you had his market value at anything over £nil at Christmas. We couldn't give him away in January, and we won't be able to in the summer either.

Probably. Trouble is, levy won't want less than that so we will be stick with him next season as well I suspect.

That was pretty bad, I actually feel sorry for him. If he was a dog, he would be on his way to the vets to be put down.

I'm a fan of Paulinho from Corinthians days but his time has been failure here but at least I can see him going back to Brazil and we may only make a £5m loss.
Same with Capoue maybe to France.
Lamela, if doesn't improve, his stock is at level where maybe a Juventus will take a punt but there'll be loss.

Soldado though is an unmitigated disaster. Right now no big club will want him, and even £8m for the next level down is a lot to spend on a soon to be 30 year old who's confidence is shot. We're looking at a £26m loss here. Only thing I can see this summer is a loan. And probably loans until contract up.

Soldado in particular has seriously put me off high expectation transfers. I rated him highly at Valencia. Before we signed him I actually thought he was too good for us. I hope we never spend that money on someone again, I'd rather promote youth players or scout potential at low prices.

Will reproach do anything to fix it though? Personally I'm not so sure. Think it's time to cut our losses on this one.
He's not going to be here next season anyway; that was nailed on. But I would have liked to have seen him regain something to take forward to his next venture (seen as though we stole his game from him in the AVB era).

Looks like it's something he is going to have to find again, though.

And, again, he's not the sole reason why we went out - we should have scored 2/3 in the first 30mins of the first leg and dembele took a shite and gave the ball away that eventually led to their goal - but if he is that shot to not be able to pass a simple ball in that situation then reality > all.

I support spurs above any player, manager, chairman - anyone.

HOW MANY TIMES? We didnt spend £26m on Soldado.

£13m up front, £13m in bonuses based on performance, for which he hasn't performed!

That's still £13m.

I've stuck up for him countless times, even started the poxy thread, but now I've given up completely.

We had two men covering in the first leg and he hacks him down from behind and costs us a goal, and this leg one on one with the keeper passes it back to him. He likes to hack opposition every match as if he's putting himself about a bit, he doesn't even do that properly. A few crosses towards the near post and no run today either.

Almost a third of the Bale fee was blown on this man, a huge fee for a 28 year old, one that was meant to bring us instant success rather than turning him into a good prospect. We'd be lucky if any Spanish club gave us 8m pounds for him

some of what I'm reading is very unpleasant. Spurs fans really r dog eat dog. Don't moan when we lose Eriksen when a bigger club prizes him away. What goes around comes around.

You forgot Clive Allen! He should be neat the top of the list.

That list looks kind of pathetic after the top 10-12. No wonder we've gone through years of rough results and finishes.

The reason why we lose our good players like Bale,Modric,Carrick and Berbatov is because when they look around at the other players in the changing room......... they KNOW that we are going nowhere.
We will lose the likes of Lloris,Eriksen and Vertonghen next year if players like Soldado,Capoue,Adebayor,Paulinho,Kaboul,Holtby and Lennon are still here.

These players are holding us back from challenging for trophies because they are simply NOT good enough.

stick a fork in him, he is done.

Like everyone else, I appreciated his work rate and hoped he'd come good, but I saw all I need to see tonight. That looked like something Id do in my over-30 city league.
