Parker saying he expects him to play a big part for Fulham, probably just talk but doesn’t sound like a deal is close

Imagine it’s still at a point where we are low balling because he only has a year left and they are still expecting their 40 million figure. Wonder if there will be a point where Sessegnon gets bored of waiting and considers other clubs

Edit - I also imagine we want to sell Rose first. Although most have said we plan on starting Sessegnon as a left forward to begin with

What a weird window this is proving to be.

It's feeling like pretty much every transfer window in our recent past. Incredible early positivity gradually gives way to disappointment and a feeling of being underwhelmed and left short

I'd say I'm generally one of the more pessimistic regarding our transfer window dealings, but for what it's worth, I'm still fairly confident we'll get this done.

I suspect we've taken his injury situation and apparent willingness to join us as an opportunity to try and haggle, but I think we'll ultimately agree on a deal. Fulham can't afford to let him run his contract down.

My one worry would be that Liverpool decide to get involved due to us dragging our heels, as I think I read somewhere he was a Liverpool supporter and they could probably tempt him.

Scott Parker is only saying what I’d expect him to say considering we haven’t agreed anything or even attempted to make contact with Fulham, if he we’re to come out & say look RS wants to leave but we haven’t heard from any premier league clubs with interest, it would only make Fulham’s negotiation stance weaker as he’d make it known RS wants to move on, however saying they fully expect him to be part of the squad to gain promotion let’s everyone know that if he leaves it won’t be on the cheap? If they announce Onomah from us & we haven’t negotiated on Sess then that tells me he was never a target in the first place??

“He’s rehabbing back to a point where he can feature,” said Parker, who started alongside Sessegnon when the Roehampton-born youngster made his Fulham debut aged 16. “We’ll try everything we can [to keep him].

“We’ll see what will happen from there but at this present time, with 10 days [of the transfer window] to go, he’s a Fulham player and we fully expect him to rehab back from his injury and play a big part.”

That doesn't say what the headline says in the slightest

Plus the fact that Levy's gone full Dildo Brothers and said there's money to be spent on players.

Doubt he'd say something like that without the intention of following through. Don't think he has ever come out and said that.
Well. I’ve farted without the intention of following through but shit happens

This is similar to the Eriksen/Madrid situation. The player wants to move to one specific club and will be free to do so in 12 months (small compensation fee in Sessegnon's case). The 'selling' club are stuck with that reality so either accept a low bid now ( RM haven't made for Eriksen) or come majorly unstuck next year. The buying club have to decide whether it's viable to bid however many millions for 1 year's worth of the player concerned. Tough decisions to be made all round, but Fulham will lose a shedload of money if they try to push the price too much.

Herc mentioned that Fulham wanted around £30 million plus a player on a free.. At least something to that effect. If im correct in having quoted Herc correctly then i can understand our reluctance to finalise the deal. Happy for this signing to drag on until next week. He's not coming in and immediately improving us.
