We're being told repeatedly it isn't all about the money.

I know.... but he sign a contract and he got to fulfill it unless we want to sell him.

We should not be dealing with any title rival club unless it is a deal that benefit us other than monetary eg. Iheanacho

What an asshole if true.. can't just put his head down and enjoy our best ever PL spell.. at least wait for the end of the season. I've lost all respect for him.. not that I had any.. or have any for any footballer.
How can you not have respect for any footballer? A whole class of people. What about people like Gary Mabbutt, Linvoy Primus, Pochettino, Ossie Ardiles, Jermaine Jenas, Roberto Soldado or many others that are clearly very fine human beings by all accounts. There are obviously numerous others too - I just happen to have followed and therefore know a bit more about the Spurs related people.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but bear in mind Poch, Kane and Alli have all publicly confirmed they'll be here next season.

One of SC's own spoke with Walker after the WHL finale match, and he wouldn't confirm he's staying or the stuff in the press was nonsense.

Plus it's not just the media, several ITKs including JJ have said they reckon he's leaving.

I'm all for a bit of hope (DL could still block a move if he isn't getting a good deal), but so far there's been so much smoke there has to be fire.

Again you're referring to the medias and ITK, really?

I mean if Walker could double his earnings somewhere else, to do the job he does now, who can really blame him? He's been with us for 8 years. Good thing is he has contract till 2021, so it will require atleast a 40m bid I think - and I think we can be happy with that.

None of the media or the ITK's including JJ have an exactly laudable record
on transfer predictions, in or out.
They all feed out of the same trough
and eat each others half digested gobbits.
Hope he stays personally.

Whats the 'Whisper' algorythmic rating?

Why should we, the supporters, be happy with £40m?

He is the best RB in the league. We want to improve and win the league title next year. If we sell him we will strengthen a serious rival and weaken ourselves. If a better RB is available to replace him, that's who Man City with their unlimited funds would be after. As will every other rich club.

A lack of £40m is not the reason we finished 2nd instead of 1st.

I can't see why we should be happy about selling him unless Pochettino had decided he isn't good enough for us and has already secured a better player in his stead. But do you believe Kyle Walker held us back this year because he wasn't good enough?

If we do sell him, £40m sounds cheap. We need to show Man City at al that we are now a special market and we do not operate for the benefit of clubs with endless cash. We will only sell when we emerge stronger from the deal. Any deal must strengthen us, not our rivals. It must genuinely hurt them to spend the money. If it doesn't, it's no good to us. And if the money they offer is not enough for us to get a better replacement straight away, it isn't nearly enough.

We must end the idea that we are a selling club, otherwise we cap our ambition.

Jjs record is excellent, they clearly don't all 'feed from the same trough'.
Probably best to keep opinions on this sort of thing to yourself as there's little enough ITK as it is these days, if people start rubbishing them there'll be even less.

Who needs it in the first place?
Who seriously trusts it in the second place?
And in the third place who needs it in the first place?

Agree with all you're saying. Maybe I was not clear about 40m is okay, was just meaning that if a player wants to leave this team - then I have nothing against it if we get a good fee.

Like Poch had said multiply times to the media. We only sell players who wants to leave or players we wanna sell.

Sol Campbell said he was staying and we all know how that turned out...

Maybe Walker doesn't want to say if he's staying or leaving because he doesn't know yet? I'd imagine he's got some thinking to do, and rightly so, as he's become one of the most desirable RB's in the world at the same time as Poch started rotating him with Trips. No doubt there is plenty of interest in him from other teams, PL and otherwise, and I expect his agent has been talking to him as well, but the bottom line is that Walker has been a part of the club for 8 years and he's given this club great service, he deserves a bit more respect from the fans.

If he stays, great, we keep hold of one of our top players and i've no doubt he'd be fully committed to the club. If he leaves, it will only be with Poch and Levy's blessing, and probably for a world record fee for a RB if DL works his magic. I don't blame him for not publicly committing to the club if a move is at all possible, the last thing any spurs player wants to do is become the new Judas.

If we do sell him I reckon we should add it to the 50 quid for sissoko and buy greizman
I know we don't need him but it would be fun :p

The rumours were that Walker wanted to move for personal reasons. That may or may not be true but if that is the case, there are no teams he could feasibly move to that are not rivals. There has allegedly been interest from abroad, but Germany and Spain are a lot further away from Sheffield than London is. Maybe the club think it's an OK deal for us to have 40-50m or whatever to spend elsewhere when we can push Trippier to better things. It wouldn't simply be a case of us strengthening City either since they would be giving us a lump of cash to spend. One thing I'm certain of is that Levy will squeeze every drop out of them if that's what it comes to.

All jokes aside has anybody ever stopped to think that it may not be walkers wanting to leave ?

It could be the club poch and levy that have decided he is being sold ?

Probably not but it's a possibility

Possibly.

But the point is, it needs to be an eye-watering amount of money, so much that it will strengthen us at least as much as it KW would strengthen Man City. It is not a book-keeping entry.

£40m isn't near enough in my view.
