To be fair, Trippier now has half Walker's assists (4 in 1544 minutes) total in one game. Imagine if Trippier had played another 1400 minutes in the PL, hard to imagine he wouldn't have surpassed Walker's total, no ?
I like Trippier, I think he should be used more than he has this season by Poch - particularly those home games where we monopolise the ball.

But Walker has been an elite level PL performer this season. He's offered a lot going forward and his incredible recovery pace and engine enables us to push high up the pitch and play in a smaller space.

Trippier is ok going forward but he isn't a good defender - he gets into poor positions and can be easily beaten. walker whose sheer pace is an outlet is the much better defender and that is still the primary role of the full back

Good game.. Let's get give Walker a few more rests this season and try and have a peek to see if trip can keep it up.

Let's not forget he doesn't always play this well.. I've seen some howlers

Honestly mate, yeah, I think KWP has a potential higher ceiling than either Walker or Trippier. Doesn't mean he'll fulfil that potential, and I could be wrong, but the kid is seriously talented and if he was French he'd have about 60 appearances under his belt now.

I think Walker's pace, combined with his physicality makes him a better defender than Trippier, especially since Poch has worked with him over the last two years, but Trippier is definitely better than Walker in the final third. His technique in those attacking situations is far more reliable, he trusts himself to whip and early ball or first time ball where Walker hesitates, scared of fucking it up. But let's be honest, Trippier hasn't always had games like Saturday. The future for me is still very much KWP.

It's always a tough one for me as I prefer Walker for his height, power, speed and defensive abilities.

But Trippier does have such a sweet cross on him and if we went 3-5-2 wing back route may provide more goal scoring opportunities.

Although Walker's crossing has improved and he does most things better, just such a shame he can't deliver the ball as well as Trippier.

As BC said above will be interesting to see how KWP does and has a lot of potential and COULD surpass both.

I've got a lot of time for Trippier and Davies both, as they're about the best quality backup outside backs we could possibly get. Anyone saying either one "isn't good enough" is a dolt.

Maybe Trippier is a better wingback and Walker a better rightback.

Should utilise Trippier in games where we dont need to defend as much, and where its difficult to get past the opponent's LB. He wont need to beat him, just swing a sweet cross and his job is done

Would be nice to see Trippier be able to swing some of those great crosses in for Janssen this weekend - just get Vincent to attack the space and Trippier will get the ball into those dangerous areas more often than not.

outside backs .

That's a term I don't recall hearing before.

To me it sounds like someone lurking in your garden, and much as I like all of our full-backs, I don't want to discover them hiding amongst the azaleas.

How so? Appearances for the national team or for spurs? Nationality certainly doesn't matter with Poch and if anything, being English is seen as a plus by him so the opposite would be true if your presumption is correct.

Sorry, I meant if he was a French kid playing in France.

Any idea of he can play on the left? His past couple of appearances have been nothing less then fantastic IMO. It might not be his natural position, but I think it's worth the risk to play in at wing back since Davis isn't comfortable that role.

Could be the next Lee YP, right footer on the left.

Trip's major strength is his delivery with his right foot, taking that out of his game would downgrade his effectiveness immensely imo.
