Prefer Richie to stay on his feet there. I like lenglet aggressiveness he comes out like Romero does

Good deal on the surface, also means we are probably going to get another CB.
That or we keep Rodon.

Romero - Dier - Davies
Sanchez - Rodon - Lenglet

One for each spot. Conte seems to like Rodon, despite him never really giving him game opportunities. Rodon is a better fit to back up Dier than Tanganga. His value will also probably be higher after the WC.

It seems like we’d go for another cb if we could get a Gvardiol or Bastoni, but otherwise I wonder if we’ll stick with the six we’ve got and try for those two (or similar) again next year (unless Lenglet rips it up and we try to keep him). It seems like our main business in is done and now we’re trying to move on guys that Conte has left out, get loans for youngsters that won’t get minutes under Conte, and wait around the edges for opportunities that are too good to miss out on.

Can’t see Rodon wanting to stay for very little game time. By all accounts he wants to play. I see him going aswell and a young CB coming in.
Agree about the two big names, unless something drastically changes we won’t be signing them this year.

Not like he was going to play anyway so makes zero difference really
I don't think that's the point being made though. We all love a home grown discussion on this site. we do have to be careful about the quota though especially for the CL.

It will be sad if Tanganga goes but I do hope he does well., like Tomori and then comes back

What are Milan seeing that we aren't?

He’s young, strong, decent pace just not very bright and positionally naive.

In England he gets found out because 9/10 strikers/forwards are fast, skilful and have very quick movement.

Whereas in Italy it’s pretty much like a retirement home… there’s lots of 30 plus strikers, they’re not very agile and at worst it will be a physical battle. Tanganga won’t have to worry about players running in behind him or beating him in a foot race. He should do well in Italy.

I think this will be a great deal for us. The way I see it is, his value is being club trained so I understand cutting the fee time for a buy back in that instance but if that can't be done I'd still risk the cash in. When you analyse that last year we signed Romero. The type of CB's we've been after this year, you have to be honest when you answer whether Tanganga has ever looked like he will be mixing it at that level. That's the type of defender we're demanding so the idea that it's a big risk losing Japhet, as much as he seems an incredibly nice kid and I would have loved to have seen him develop into a class defender for us. I think if he didn't have spurs ties, if we were looking in a few seasons time, his name would never been on anybody's mind relative to the calibre we're hunting for these days.
