Lamela latest

Meanwhile, Mauricio had news on Erik Lamela, who underwent a scan on his hip injury on Friday.

“The result was the same so now it’s about how he adapts his programme," said Mauricio. "Now he’ll start to run. It’s positive, now it’s about building his fitness and to try to challenge the pain he feels in his hip, but I think this will be positive.”

I don't understand what he means when he says the result was the same. The same as what?

That nothing's showing up on the scan and therefore it is all mental?

I think he's saying that Erik hasn't fully recovered and might be a bit scared to play with the pain he is feeling but Poch and/or the doctors believe he is fine to begin training now even though he hasn't fully healed.

I was wondering about that myself - my theory is that he did a scan in the UK and it said it was a minor issue. Lamela still felt pain and perhaps thought they were missing something, so went for a second opinion in Rome with his previous fitness coach. The second scan shows the same issue.

We don't know the actual truth of it all so anything else is simply supposition. Lets just hope to see him back on the field at his best soon.

Maybe the same as when they initially took a scan. I assume based on the first time they'd revised a plan for him but there was no improvement so they went for another scan and it was the same.

I think the key point is that he is ready to start training again. The truth about the scan is impossible to know, but Poch wouldn't say he was ready to start training again after 3 months out if he wasn't ready. I guess now we have to wait to hear about his return to London.

Means as I motioned before, problem is more in his head.
We dont know what. For example I have two MRIs this year that showed no problem worth my groin at all. But I was in again lifting. Then a surgeon in Germany had a feel and said you need a groin op, which I had and it was torn. Took me 18 months of pain for Somoza to finally find problem.

Even a doctor wouldn't be able to make that statement with certainty.

It could be nerve damage that can't be seen or referred pain from another area.

Actually sounds a bit scary to me because he's obviously not comfortable.

Oh fuck off. This ITK persona you've taken on over the last few months is getting boring now. We all know you're full of shit.
You don't need to resort to abusive foul mouthed language! I don't need to vindicate myself. I know who knows what I said before anything came out, so simply continue to be ignorant and full of virile abuse.

I have a already responded to all the Lamela love in club. And for the record, I have a lot of time for him.

I think this may be the case, maybe after his initial injury, he is struggling to get back to fitness, worried about being injured again or maybe the problems with his brother are affecting his recovery.

It's unfair to guess really but I would say that it likely is a mental issue at this point or maybe it's just a physical niggle that a scan cannot accurately report, we all react to pain in different ways.
