For all the talk about injuries - he has played more PL games for us than the likes of Bale, Rose, Jenas, Robinson or Justin Edinburgh who were all first teamers for ages
9300 PL minutes in 8 seasons. That's on average less than 13 full matches a season. The list of injuries and 'fitness issues' is almost endless.

DiMarzio I guess saying he has agreed a 3 year contract with Sevilla. Can’t believe this actually might be happening.

It was so ridiculous that Mourinho would bring him on when down a goal when he couldn't score or assist to save his life last season.

It's not a good return I agree and am surprised it's as low as that - although what I would say is that apart from in Poch's first two seasons and the first month or two of his last season - Lamela has almost never been first choice in his 8 years here

Love his fire and tenacity... 100% commitment etc etc - and he is different in style to others in squad which always made me want him to stay, as offered something different. Shame on injuries and would like to see right foot used on occasion and release the ball a bit quicker.....assumed would go back to Italy tbh if not back to Argentina

If you have been reading my previous posts, you will see that I was always in the defending Lamela camp. As "limited" as he was, he was one of my current favourite Spurs player..

For those who say he has done nothing for us (yes, I have read this on this forum), all I can say is you are very in generous or just plainly have not got a clue.

While I understand that he has to go, I do not want him to, as I believe our squad would benefit from him still being in it. I am certain that he will be the only one I will miss and I do not cast him as deadwood as I would others who subsequently will go as well.

I am also certain if next season when we are in a deadlock in a vital game when we need that player to come in off the bench to change the game, it will be chorus of "I wish Lamela was still here"!

Adios Coco, thanks for the memories as you do have fans who liked and appreciated your effort and services.

Thats how Mourinho used him and we didn't come back in a game all season under him.

Wish Coco nothing but luck in Seville. Despite his injuries and never hitting the heights his potential promised can’t say he never gave it his all. In recent years where too many downed tools or lost interest Lamela always played like it mattered to him. Hope he does well out in Spain.

I don't think he will go down as a club legend, but he will definitely go down as a Cult Hero Freund style.

Always had a soft spot for Coco and if he does go i wish him all the best as he always wore the shirt with pride.

He's Spurs.

Love the guy to bits. I don't want him to go, but I think it is time.

I'm the same, don't want him to go, but if we can replace him with someone almost if not as good who isn't as injury prone, then it's good for the squad.

Time for him to move on and to leave us with all the wonderful memories of his shithousery and Rabonas.

That moment after Martial brushed his face when Erik suddenly went down like he’d just had a root canal without anaesthetic … :)

Let’s be honest, Lamela has been disastrous for us. I don’t care how much he ran around, or how much “passion for the badge” he showed, he was fucking shit. S.H.I.T. This (or whenever it happens) is (or will be) a great day for the club, and my only regret about it will be that it didn’t happen a lot sooner.

Sad to see him go, probably the right time

For me Lamela always brought the best out of other players around him. Yep could be slow, could hold on to the ball too long and a questionable right foot but during the early Poch days he made a massive difference even though it was not always obvious. When he was on the front three would interchange more, press more and we created more chances. He's always get pelters (whatever happened to Francis Gibb?) even when he'd get motm.

He's also fight himself if there was nobady else around - we needed that. Considering he had more treatment on his hips and back than the average gran I will always think we got our money's worth.

Good luck fella

If we’re replacing him with someone almost as good, then we’ve really not learned ANYTHING
