Time to move him on. Need to be ruthless and cut ourselves of players who just can't help us move forward either due to them not being good enough or struggling with their fitness.

Agree 100% he’s far far too injury prone and when he is fit it’s not like he’s a first name on the team sheet, likeable guy, talented player and good attitude but like you say time to cut loose now be ruthless and rebuild, HUGELY important summer.

I'm a huge fan of his and I really think we have missed him over recent months. That being said, I don't think we will see him play for us again. Injuries have completely ruined his career. Feel sorry for him.

People are bashing Sanchez and the way he is basically robbing United, yet here is Lamela stealing a living for close to 6 years now. Move him on and close this agonizing chapter it something we should have done years ago just like with Soldado.

Hardly stealing a living if he is injured is he? When he's on the pitch he gives more than anyone.

When we get an injury to a first XI player we need our squad players to step in.

We need our squad players to be fit so we can rotate.

We need options from the bench to either change the game of give players a rest.

We need our squad players to be fit enough to challenge and put pressure on the first team.

Sadly Lamela's injuries mean he is not able to do any of those things and is potentially taking up a squad place of a player who can.

Would be madness to allow this to happen again next season.

Pains me because on his day Lamela's in my strongest 11. I miss the combination of Eriksen Alli Lamela Kane

Think he needs to go, use Lamela as part of any deal to get Zaniolo from Roma. They still love him in Italy and he’d prob play more in a less physical league. Zaniolo looks a decent young player, physical presence being 6’3”.

His contract extension was INSANE.

Our medical team are nuts.
Why? Why would we purposely let a pretty good players contract just run out? It gives us more leverage in a negotiation at the bare minimum.

I have no doubt he'll have offers from Italy.

With a squad as thin as ours we have far too many injury prone/knackered players (Wanyama/Dier/Lamela/Winks/Kane/Dele/Aurier)

It's bad news though as for the last 2 windows there have been no players in world football thought good enough that we could buy that could bolster the squad.

It's going to be a long old summer.

He had a serious injury. He tried to get back as quickly as he could and caused more issues.
Footballers are labelled disloyal when they want to better themselves hat are supporters when they caste away a player who has tried to get back playing as soon as he could no time for playing himself back in Just has to at his best immediately Dier situation quite similar in the sense that loyalty from supporters is short lived
