Yeah awesome. Doesn't at all look as though he's looking down thinking, fuck this ankle just isn't feeling right.

:D To be honest I'm not sure if that's directly from today as normally in CL week we wear our different coloured training gear I think. Although I'm assuming he was signifying he was training even if the picture wasn't todays. Ties in with the info we had on him possibly being available too.

I think Lamela will be given until the winter TW to prove he can play a role and stay fit. If he spends over 30% of his time out injured between August and Dec this year, he'll be out on his ear in January. However, Poch really seems to rate him highly, and will likely want to give him one more chance. Give him an entire summer to get strong, work on his fitness and get his head right. 'Cos if he does come back fully fit and physically in great shape, then he will be an important weapon on a team that desperately needs depth next season.

Make no mistake, we've missed a fit Lamela over the last two months. He has the ability to open teams up with smart passes. Especially those that tend to park the bus. He's also integral to the press. Without him, we suck at it.

Look, I'm not saying the guy is brilliant or anything like that. But given the number of games we will play next season, having someone like him who can start 25-30 games and regularly come off the bench, will be incredibly important.

All of that is already done for him I fear.

I have alway been a supporter of Lamela but his constant relationship with the medical team is so frustrating.

PHe averages around 20 appearances each season across all competitions including sub appearances which to me is not enough.

27 years old and should be in his prime but dont see enough for him to make a difference. I think we should consider any offers in the summer.

Get rid. Always been a fan but he’s never fit enough. Waste of a squad place and sorry but he isn’t good enough when fit to offset all his injuries, like King was or even Anderton back in the day. For backups like Lamela you need players who are pretty much always available when you need them. If we don’t sell him the summer I don’t need to be mystic meg to tell you he will he injured again for most of next season.

Unfortunately when a player is this injury prone they never really turn it around.

Will be a massive mistake to keep him. Poch needs to be ruthless now. Half of the reason we struggled this season is we have kept too many injury prone players who haven’t helped us when we needed them.

We already have players like Winks who obviously won’t be sold and already are seemingly quite injury prone. Poch needs to pick and choose the ones he keeps but we can’t keep all of them. Sacrifices need to be made.

The thing is no-one's going to buy an injury prone player with 3 years left on his contract from Levy - he'll probably be asking for £40 million. I think Lamela is destined to be a squad player until his contract eventually runs out.

Big plus if he can play any part tomorrow!

Ajax won't like his pressing game.

Surely after so long out his impact will be negligible. Might come on for 20 minutes but can’t see how he’s match fit or anywhere near sharp enough
