I'm already picturing it:

It's 89 minutes into the second leg of the CL semifinals at the Johan Cruyff Arena, the score is 0-0 and we haven't looked like scoring all day long. Our football just looks dull but with more heart than creativity... all hope seems lost. Suddenly, from somewhere in the atmosphere, Eriksen hears Lamela speaking to him the following words: Christian, on your left!

And then he pings his hamstring.

Is Eriksen in the stands next to Lamela ?

Eriksen: Oh shit, where did I put my phone?

Lamela: Christian, on your left!

And as he turns to his left, he sees Zizou in the stands, waving his new RM contract :(

I highly doubt we will see him again in a spurs shirt, season could potentially end in a weeks' time & he still doesn't seem any closer to being match ready

If he was a horse he would be put down. Talented no doubt but just not available to play often enough.

Only of he stays fit
The slower, less physical nature of the league would suit him. Dembele seriously considered going there for good reason. I imagine he's still reasonably highly rated in Italy and hopefully there are clubs who would be interested.

Is there any chance he is back this season, or is it over?

On the OS it says that he's still undergoing on-field rehab. After googling it, I found that means he's on the last stage of his rehab (as per this paper), which means he's almost ready to play. Is there enough time for him to be ready for at least two of our next three matches? Well, I doubt it, but here's hoping. (y)

Lol I think I've heard someone say the same thing said every season .

It's a hammy, it's a month out minimum. How long ago was city away?
He'll be back

im not doubting how long his injury will be, im contemplating the fact that we will sell him in the summer & that hes unlikely to feature on the bench in time for Everton

Think he has a future in Italy.

That's why I suggested him in a potential exchange for that Zaniolo lad from Roma that we've been linked to.

The fans loved Lamela, he was in tears when he said goodbye to them & their club. If he's truly never gonna be fit enough for us/the PL (which will genuinely gut me) maybe a return to his first love could be a nice solution for everyone concerned?

We need to get rid of the deadwood in this club. Has he ever had a stable season?

He's not deadwood though. Without his contributions this season, we wouldn't have made it out of the group stages of the CL and we would be worst than utd in the league.

He's not deadwood is he? That suggests someone who has no future because he's not good enough to get in the team.

In reality he's easily good enough but the problem is he's never available.

Needed him desperately in the last few months and his body has let him and Poch down.

Needs at least a couple of training sessions with the squad before he's considered for selection, no? That seems to be the normal way it goes. Maybe he will be on the bench for Everton, hopefully it's a dead rubber anyway!
